This is how much you get

7 000 SEK

  • 7 000 krAllowance for adults
  • 9 500 krAllowance for children
  • 3 500 krRepair allowance

The allowance is SEK 7 000 for adults and SEK 9 500 for children up to and including age 17, including VAT, per 12 months (from 1 March 2026). For long-term needs there is also a repair allowance of SEK 3 500 per year. The requisition (rekvisition) is written by your treating specialist, not by a GP at a health centre.

Requisition in Stockholm

Who can get a wig requisition in Stockholms län?
A requisition (rekvisition) is granted by your healthcare provider for medical hair loss, for example during cancer treatment, alopecia or other conditions that affect the hair. The decision is made by your doctor or treating healthcare contact.
How do I use my requisition with you?
Bring your requisition to your appointment (or send it to us in advance). We go through the amount together, show you which options are included and help you choose a wig that suits both your needs and the limits of the allowance.
Do I need to book a wig fitting?
Yes, we always recommend booking an appointment for a fitting with a requisition. That way we can set aside a private room and enough time to go through your questions calmly, try on different styles and make any adjustments.
How much is the wig allowance in Region Stockholm?
The allowance is at most SEK 7 000 for adults and SEK 9 500 for children per 12-month period. If the hair replacement costs more, you pay the difference yourself. If you have a requisition for a long-term need, there is also a repair allowance of SEK 3 500, which can be used at the earliest six months after you received your hair replacement. The allowance may not be used for care, such as wig washing or shampoo. Fairwithhair is an approved supplier and can invoice Region Stockholm.
Can I get a wig that looks like my previous hair?
Yes, many people want to keep their “usual” hairstyle. We help you find the right length, colour and shape, and can cut in, thin out and style the wig if needed so it resembles your previous hair as closely as possible.
What types of wigs do you offer for medical hair loss?
We offer carefully selected wigs and hairpieces suited to medical hair loss, with a focus on a natural look, gentle comfort for the scalp and high quality. We guide you to the right style based on your requisition and your wishes.
Do you do the fitting in a private room?
Yes, the fitting takes place in a calm, private setting so you can feel at ease. We set aside plenty of time for you and are happy for you to bring someone close to you if that feels right.
Can I get help even if I can't come to the salon?
If it is difficult for you to come to us, we can help with advice by phone or online. Contact us and we will go through together what is possible based on your situation and your requisition.
How long does a wig fitting take?
Allow around 60–90 minutes for your first visit. That gives us time to go through your requisition, talk about your wishes, try on different styles and discuss any cutting and styling.
Can I come back if I need the wig adjusted later?
Yes, of course. You are always welcome back for questions, adjustments, styling tips or if you feel the wig needs adapting after some time. We are here to support you after your purchase too.
