How do you take out extensions at home?

It depends on the method. Tape and keratin are dissolved with remover, micro rings are opened with pliers, and we prefer to remove sew-ins at the salon.

Can you remove tape-in hair without remover?

We advise against it. Without remover, the tape releases unevenly and easily takes your own hair with it, and there's more residue to remove.

Can you remove tape-in hair with oil?

Oil can dissolve the tape in an emergency, but it leaves residue that stops new tape from sticking as well. Remover dissolves the tape faster and more cleanly.

Which remover should I choose?

Remover för tejp och keratin dissolves both bond types and comes in two versions. Latex glue needs Remover för latexlim, and C-22 Solvent removes stubborn residue.

How do you remove keratin extensions?

Drip remover onto the bond, let it work and gently crack the bond with removal pliers. Then slide the strand downwards without tugging.

Do micro rings and butterfly weft need remover?

No, micro rings are opened with micro ring pliers and need neither glue nor remover.

How long does a remover last?

The small bottle lasts a couple of move-ups and the large one about six months. Have remover at home from your very first installation.

How do I get rid of tape residue after removal?

Apply a little remover to the residue, let it work and comb it out. The strands need to be completely clean before they get new refill tape.

Can I reuse the hair extensions after removal?

Yes. Tape-in extensions get new refill tape and keratin strands new wax bonds, so the same hair can be reinstalled.

Remover and hair extension removal
It's during removal that your own hair is most often damaged – not while the extensions are in. With the right remover, the bonds release gently, so you can take out extensions at home without pulling, tugging or breaking your own hair. Here you'll find remover, glue and tape for hair extensions – the same products we use in our salons.

How to remove tape-in extensions
Apply remover along the tape and wait until it softens. Then gently separate the strands. Never remove the tape dry – your own hair will come with it. Oil can dissolve the tape in an emergency, but leaves residue that stops new tape from sticking as well. Comb out any remaining residue with a little remover.

How to remove keratin extensions
Drip remover onto the keratin bond and let it work. Gently crack the bond with removal pliers and slide the strand downwards without tugging. Comb out any residue. Keratin strands last 3–4 months and are then reinstalled with new wax bonds.

Micro rings and butterfly weft
Micro weft and butterfly weft are attached with micro rings and don't need remover. The rings are opened with micro ring pliers when the weft needs to come out or have a move-up.

Sew-ins and latex glue
We prefer to remove sew-ins at the salon, so the thread can be cut without damaging your own hair. Latex glue is dissolved with Remover för latexlim, which removes the glue without pulling on the hair.

Choose the right remover
Remover för tejp och keratin dissolves both bond types and comes in two versions. C-22 Solvent is the strongest and also removes stubborn glue and tape residue. Have remover at home from your very first installation – the small bottle lasts a couple of move-ups and the large one about six months.

Reinstall at your move-up
The hair is reused. Tape-in extensions get new refill tape every 8–10 weeks, and keratin strands get new wax bonds when reinstalled. Make sure the strands are completely clean and dry before they're given new bonds.
