What is the maximum amount for medical hair replacement in Region Värmland?
In Region Värmland the amount depends on your medical need. For a temporary need, for example during chemotherapy, the allowance is at most SEK 4 000 per 12-month period. For a permanent need it is at most SEK 8 000 per year, and the prescription is valid for five years before a new assessment is needed. The amounts include VAT and any fitting fee. You can use all or part of the allowance during the period.
How can I use my allowance in your online shop if I live in Värmland?

In Region Värmland it depends on your need. For a permanent medical need the allowance is calculated per calendar year, and the requisition can be valid for up to five years. For a temporary need the allowance is calculated per 12-month period. Check the expiry date on your requisition before you order.
Can the Värmland allowance be used for turbans or scarves?
In Region Värmland the allowance can be used for synthetic or human hair wigs, toupees, other hair replacement, eyelashes, cosmetic eyebrow tattooing and the fitting fee. Turbans and scarves are not mentioned in the region's rules, so get in touch before you order.
If I'm planning a trip to Stockholm, can I book a fitting at your salon?
You're very welcome. If you are passing by, you'll find us in Stockholm by Odenplan and in Uppsala. Always book in advance so we can set aside a private room and give you our full attention throughout your visit.
Does Region Värmland also pay for my accessories and care products?
No, the region's medical support is strictly intended for the wig, hair replacement or scarf itself and the professional cutting in. Ongoing consumables for daily maintenance at home – such as special shampoo, conditioner, wig stands or attachment tape – are always paid for by you.
Who in Värmland healthcare is authorised to issue the document?
The document is prescribed after an individual medical assessment by an approved prescriber. This is usually your treating specialist, for example in oncology (cancer treatment) or dermatology (for skin conditions such as alopecia). An ordinary GP at a health centre normally cannot issue it.
How are the paperwork and invoicing handled between you and the region?
We take care of the whole administrative process for you, so you don't have to pay upfront or send in receipts afterwards. Once we have validated your requisition details, we send the invoice for the approved amount directly to Region Värmland, and you only pay any difference.
