FAQ
Hair extensions made of man-made fibre instead of human hair. Our synthetic hair extensions are heat-resistant and have the shape built in, so they're ready to use straight away.
That the extensions are made entirely without animal materials – no human hair and no animal-derived components in the fibre or attachment.
Synthetic holds its shape by itself, costs less and needs almost no care. Human hair can be coloured and heat styled freely and lasts longer, but needs styling after washing.
Yes, the fibre can handle up to 120 °C. Never set a higher temperature – damaged synthetic fibre can't be repaired.
No, synthetic fibre doesn't take colour. Choose your shade carefully from the start – we're happy to help.
A ponytail for length in seconds, a halo or clip-ins for volume all around the head, a clip-in fringe for a fringe without cutting, and braiding hair or crochet locs for braids and locs.
A halo rests on an invisible wire and isn't attached to your own hair, so it's the quickest and gentlest on your hair. Clip-ins give more control over where the volume goes.
Rarely, in lukewarm water with shampoo for synthetic hair. Let them soak instead of rubbing, air-dry them and never brush while the fibre is wet.
No, nothing is attached permanently. Take the extensions out before you sleep, shower or work out, and attach the clips to a decent section of your own hair.
Match to your lengths in daylight, not to your roots. Book our free online consultation or email a photo taken in daylight to info@fairwithhair.se.
Everything you need to know about Vegan Synthetic Hair Extensions
Synthetic hair extensions – vegan, heat-resistant and ready to wear
Our synthetic hair extensions are called Vegan and are made of heat-resistant synthetic fibre, completely free from animal materials. The shape is set in the fibre itself: straight lengths fall straight, and waves and curls come back by themselves once the hair has dried. You don't need to restyle after washing, and the style holds up against humidity and rain. Everything in this category goes in by yourself in a few minutes, with no glue, tape or heat, and comes out whenever you like.
Which synthetic hair extensions suit you?
Vegan Ponytail is a synthetic ponytail that attaches around your own ponytail and adds length and volume in seconds. It comes straight, wavy, curly, Deep Wave and as Barbie, from 40 to 80 cm, and Vegan Puff – Afro gives big volume around a bun.
Halos and clip-ins add volume all around the head. A halo rests on an invisible wire over your head and is the gentlest option, because nothing is attached to your own hair. A halo with clips locks in place for extra security. Vegan Clip-in – Wavy is a 240 g set in four pieces that you place exactly where you want the fullness.
A clip-in fringe and messy bun change your look in seconds. Try a fringe without cutting, or put up a ready-made bun with Vegan Scrunchie – Messy Bun.
Braiding hair and crochet locs are for braids and locs. X-Pression Ultra Braid and Easy Braid are used for box braids, cornrows and your own braided styles, and Goddess, Boho, Butterfly and Queen Locs are ready-made locs crocheted onto cornrows.
Synthetic or human hair extensions?
Synthetic hair extensions are the easiest choice when you want a finished style without styling – for parties, travel or when you want to switch up your look. They cost less than human hair and need almost no care. Human hair extensions can be coloured and heat styled freely and last longer, but need styling after every wash. If you wear extensions every day, or want to be able to change colour and shape, human hair is a better choice – you'll find it under Human Hair Extensions.
Heat and colour
The fibre is heat-resistant and can handle up to 120 °C from straighteners, curling irons and hairdryers. Never set a higher temperature, because damaged synthetic fibre can't be repaired. Synthetic fibre doesn't take colour, so the shade you choose is the shade you get – which is why it pays to spend a little extra time choosing your colour.
How to choose the right colour
Look at your hair in daylight and match to your lengths, not your roots. It's the lengths that show next to the extensions. If you're between two shades, the darker one is usually the safest choice because it blends in more easily. If you'd like help, book our free online consultation or email a photo taken in daylight without flash to info@fairwithhair.se.
Caring for synthetic hair extensions
Wash rarely, in lukewarm water with shampoo for synthetic hair. Let the hair soak instead of rubbing, rinse gently and let it air-dry flat or hanging. Brush from the bottom up with a brush for synthetic hair, and never while the fibre is wet. Avoid oils and silicone, and store the extensions hanging or in a bag so they keep their shape.
How long do synthetic hair extensions last?
How long they last depends on how often you wear them and how you care for them. Worn occasionally they last a long time; with daily use the fibre wears faster. Friction from collars, scarves and jackets is the most common cause of tangling at the nape. Always take your extensions out before you sleep, shower or work out.
