Vanliga frågor

Which accessories do I need for keratin extensions?

For installation you need a heat tool and heat protector shields, for rebonding new wax bonds, and for removal remover and removal pliers.

How long do keratin extensions last?

Keratin and Nail hair last 3–4 months. After that they are rebonded, which means the bond is removed and redone.

What is the difference between rebonding and a move-up?

When rebonding, the keratin bond is removed and the strand gets a new bond. Tape-in and microring extensions are instead moved up closer to the scalp.

What are wax bond refills used for?

The wax bonds give the strand a new keratin bond when rebonding, so the same hair can be installed again.

Why should I use heat protector shields?

The shield is placed between the bond and the scalp while the heat tool is used, so the heat does not reach the skin and the hair around the bond is protected.

How do I remove keratin extensions?

Apply remover to the bond, let it work for a moment and gently crush the bond with the removal pliers. Then slide the strand down without pulling.

Can I remove keratin extensions without remover?

We advise against it. The remover softens the keratin so the bond releases without breaking your own hair.

Can keratin extensions be reused?

Yes, the hair can be used again after rebonding. The old bond is removed and the strand gets a new bond with wax bond refills.

How many keratin strands do I need?

The strands are sold in packs of 20. For highlights 20–40 is enough, for thickening 40–80, for lengthening 100–140 and for extra volume 160–200 strands.

Does keratin work for curly hair?

Yes, choose strands in the texture that matches your hair. If your hair is very tightly curled, we do a consultation first to make sure the bond sits well.

Allt du behöver veta om Keratin & Nail Hair Accessories

Accessories for keratin and Nail hair
Keratin and Nail hair are attached with small keratin bonds shaped around a thin section of your own hair. The method gives a discreet, long-lasting result, but it requires the right tools both when the strands go in and when they come out. Here you will find what we use ourselves in our salon.

Heat tool for keratin extensions
The heat tool melts the keratin bond so it can be shaped around your own hair. Take a section the same size as the strand, place the bond close to the scalp and shape it while it is warm. Use heat protector shields between the bond and the scalp, so the heat does not reach the skin.

Wax bonds and rebonding
Keratin strands stay in for 3–4 months. After that they are rebonded: the bond is removed, the strand gets a new bond with wax bond refills and is installed again close to the scalp. The hair is reused, so it is the bonds you use up.

How to remove keratin extensions
Apply remover to the bond and let it work. Then gently crush the bond with the removal pliers and slide the strand down. Comb out any residue. Never remove bonds dry – your own hair can break.
