What financial limits apply to medical wigs in Region Örebro län?
In Region Örebro län the allowance for permanent hair loss is up to SEK 6 000 including VAT per year from 2026. For a short-term need, for example during chemotherapy, it is up to SEK 4 000 including VAT per year. The amount includes fitting and VAT, and there is a patient fee of SEK 190 per prescription on top. The prescription is valid for 12 months from the date of issue.
How can I shop with you if I live in Örebro län and your salon is in Stockholm?

How do I go about placing an online order with my requisition in practice?

Does Region Örebro län allow you to choose a more expensive wig and pay the difference?
Yes, absolutely. You are free to choose your hairdresser, salon and supplier. If you find a human hair wig or a more advanced hair replacement that costs more than your approved allowance, you simply pay the remaining amount yourself at the time of purchase.
Is my wig allowance valid per calendar year or per 12 months?
In Region Örebro län the requisition is a time-limited document of value that runs for 12 months from the exact date your prescriber issued it. That is why it is important to place your order in our online shop before that end date has passed.
Can I use the allowance for alternative headwear such as a turban or scarf?
Yes. From 2026 the allowance in Region Örebro län can also be used for scarves and headwear sold by hairdressers as a replacement for wigs. You can order these directly from us.
If I travel to Stockholm, can I book a personal fitting at the salon?
You're very welcome. If you're planning a trip, you'll find us in Stockholm by Odenplan and in Uppsala. Always book in advance so we can set aside a private room and give you our full attention throughout your visit.
Does the Örebro län allowance also cover accessories and consumables?
No, the region's medical support is strictly reserved for the wig, hair replacement or scarf itself and the professional cutting in. Ongoing care products for home use – such as special shampoo, conditioner, wig stands, brushes or attachment tape – are always paid for by you.
Who in Region Örebro län healthcare is authorised to issue a requisition?
The document is issued after an individual medical assessment. It is your responsible specialist (for example in dermatology for alopecia, or oncology for cancer treatment at Örebro University Hospital) who is authorised to prescribe the support. A regular health centre usually cannot issue it.
How do invoicing and paperwork work between you and the region?
We handle all the paperwork for you so you don't have to pay upfront or deal with receipts. Once we have validated and registered your valid requisition details, we send the invoice for the approved amount directly to Region Örebro län, and you only pay any difference.
