Vanliga frågor

How often do tape-in extensions need new tape?

At every move-up, every 8–10 weeks. The old tape is dissolved with remover and new refill tape is applied to the same pieces.

Can tape-in extensions be reused?

Yes, the hair is reused at every move-up. Only the tape is replaced, so the same hair can be worn for several rounds.

How do I retape tape-in extensions?

Remove all old tape residue, make sure the piece is completely clean and dry, apply the refill tape along the edge and press the pieces together around your own hair with the tape pliers.

Can I remove tape-in extensions without remover?

We advise against it. Without remover the tape releases unevenly and easily pulls out your own hair. Oil can loosen the tape but leaves residue that makes new tape hold less well.

How do I remove tape-in extensions at home?

Apply remover along the tape, wait until it softens and gently separate the pieces. Never remove the tape dry.

What are the tape pliers used for?

The tape pliers press the tape pieces together evenly, so the bond is strong and lies flat against the head.

How long should I wait before washing my hair after installation?

Wait 48 hours before washing your hair or sweating heavily, so the tape has time to bond properly.

How long does a remover last?

The small bottle lasts a couple of move-ups and the large one about six months. We recommend buying remover together with every refill tape order.

Why does the tape come loose too early?

Usually because of oil, conditioner or old residue near the bond. Keep care products away from the tape and make sure the pieces are completely clean when you apply new tape.

Allt du behöver veta om Tape Extension Accessories

Accessories for tape-in extensions
Tape-in extensions are one of the easiest methods to maintain, and most of the maintenance is about the tape. Here you will find refill tape, tape pliers and remover – the same products we use for installation and move-ups in our salons.

Refill tape at every move-up
Tape-in extensions are moved up every 8–10 weeks. The old tape is dissolved, the pieces are cleaned and get new refill tape before they are placed back closer to the scalp. The hair is reused, so it is the tape you use up. We offer refill tape in two versions, Professionell and Basic.

How to retape
Dissolve the old tape with remover and gently separate the pieces. Remove all tape residue from the piece, otherwise the new tape will not hold as well. Make sure the piece is completely clean and dry, apply the refill tape along the edge and attach the piece around your own hair. Press together with the tape pliers so the bond is even and lies flat against the head.

Remover for tape-in extensions
Never remove tape-in extensions dry – your own hair will come out with them. Remover dissolves the tape so the pieces release gently. Oil can work in an emergency but leaves residue that weakens the next tape. The remover for tape and keratin comes in two versions, and C-22 Solvent also takes care of stubborn residue. The small bottle lasts a couple of move-ups and the large one about six months.

After installation
Wait 48 hours before washing your hair or sweating heavily. Keep oil, conditioner and hair masks away from the tape, and the bond will stay in place until your next move-up.
