What allowance levels apply to wigs in Region Sörmland?
In Region Sörmland the allowance for adults is up to SEK 3 000 including VAT per six-month period, but at most SEK 6 000 including VAT per twelve-month period. You pay any costs above the allowance yourself. The amount on your own requisition (rekvisition) always applies.
How can I use my allowance in your online shop if I live in Sörmland?

Yes, that works perfectly. Region Sörmland applies the principle of freedom of choice, so you are not tied to a particular hair type. If you find a wig, for example in human hair, that exceeds the region's allowance of up to SEK 6 000, you simply pay the remaining amount yourself at checkout.
How is the period of validity of a wig allowance defined in my home region?
In Region Sörmland the requisition is a personal, time-limited document of value. Its validity is based on the date your prescriber issued it (usually 12 months). That is why it is important to complete your order in our online shop or visit us before the end date on the form has passed.
Can the Sörmland allowance be used for turbans or scarves?
Yes, if you are undergoing temporary medical treatment or for other reasons prefer fabric headwear to a wig, Region Sörmland allows the allowance to be used fully or partly for specially adapted medical scarves or turbans, which you can order directly from us.
If I take the train or drive to Stockholm, can I try the wig on in person?
You're very welcome. Sörmland is close to both Stockholm and Uppsala, and many of our customers from Sörmland choose to visit us in person. Always book in advance so we can guarantee you a private fitting room and our full attention.
Does Region Sörmland's allowance also cover my care products and accessories?
No, the region's financial support covers only the wig, hair replacement or scarf itself and the professional fitting. Ongoing consumables for care at home – such as special shampoo, conditioner, wig stands, brushes or attachment tape – are always paid for by you.
Who issues the requisition in Region Sörmland?
It depends on why you need a wig. For cancer treatment, the application usually goes through your contact at Onkologkliniken Sörmland. For permanent hair loss it is usually a doctor at the dermatology clinic. Ask your healthcare contact if you haven't received a requisition.
How does the video fitting work?
We book a personal video meeting where we go through your requisition, look at your hair colour and skin tone and help you choose the style, colour and size. The wig is then sent to your home in a plain parcel and we invoice the region. Book by phone on +46 76-415 90 00.
