Requisition in Västmanland

How much is the wig allowance in Region Västmanland?
It depends on your medical need. For permanent hair loss the allowance is at most SEK 8 000 per calendar year. For a short-term need, for example during chemotherapy, it is at most SEK 4 000 per calendar year for a synthetic wig. Region Västmanland also has a separate allowance of up to SEK 3 000 per calendar year for a custom-sewn turban or scarf, and if you have a permanent need you can combine the two up to a total of SEK 7 000 in a calendar year. The amounts include VAT and any fitting fee. You pay for care products and any further costs yourself.
Can I use my Västmanland requisition in your online shop?
Yes, that's fine. We don't have a salon in Västmanland, but we have a smooth and secure system that lets you easily redeem your requisition (rekvisition) when you shop online in our webshop.
How does shopping online with a requisition work with you in practice?
You choose your wig in your own time in our online shop. Before completing the purchase at checkout, contact our customer service by phone or email. We help you register your requisition details digitally so your allowance is deducted directly from your order.
What happens if the wig I want costs more than my allowance?
If you find a wig, for example in human hair, that exceeds Region Västmanland's maximum amount, that's no problem. You simply pay the excess difference yourself, directly at the online checkout or in the salon.
Does the allowance in Västmanland apply per calendar year or per 12 months?
In Region Västmanland the allowance is calculated per calendar year (1 January to 31 December). This means your balance resets at the turn of the year. If you have a permanent need, you can be granted a new requisition for the coming calendar year.
Can I get an allowance for a turban or scarf in Region Västmanland?
Yes. For a short-term need you can be granted up to SEK 3 000 per calendar year for a custom-sewn turban or scarf. If you have a permanent need, you can also combine the allowances for a wig (SEK 4 000) and a turban or scarf (SEK 3 000) up to a cap of SEK 7 000 in total per calendar year. You can order both directly from us.
Do I need to book if I want to visit your physical salon in Stockholm?
Yes, always book in advance. From Västmanland both Uppsala and Stockholm are close by, and from Västerås the train takes about an hour. That way we can guarantee you a private, safe setting and give you our full attention.
Are care products and accessories included in Västmanland's wig allowance?
No, under Region Västmanland's guidelines the allowance only covers the wig, hair replacement or scarf itself and the professional fitting. You pay for accessories and consumables for daily care at home (such as special shampoo, conditioner or tape) yourself.
Who can issue a wig requisition in Region Västmanland?
The requisition is issued after a medical assessment by an authorised prescriber in the healthcare system. It is usually your treating specialist (for example in oncology or dermatology) who issues the document to you.
Can I choose a human hair wig if I have a short-term need?
Region Västmanland's guidelines set SEK 4 000 for a synthetic wig for a short-term need, but you are always free to choose a human hair wig from us as long as you cover the difference above the allowance cap yourself.
