Braiding in Stockholm and Uppsala
This is where you book the braiding itself with us. We do box braids in four sizes, from large to very small, cornrows in two, four or six rows, baby cornrows, ponytail braids, crochet braids and braids for men. We braid children too – box braids and cornrows.

Size decides both time and durability
The smaller the braids, the longer it takes and the longer the style lasts. Small and very small box braids often take half a day or more, while a few rows of cornrows are done in considerably less time. We tell you how long your particular booking will take when we book you in, so you can plan the day.

A protective style
With your own hair braided in, it escapes daily brushing, heat tools and friction against collars and jackets. That is why braids are called a protective style – the hair gets to rest. The condition is that the braids are not too tight and that the scalp is looked after in the meantime.

Tell us if it pulls
A braid should feel firm, but it should not pull. If it stretches at the temples or stings when you raise your eyebrows, it is too tight, and we want to know straight away. Hair braided too tightly wears on the hairline, and that damage takes a long time to repair. We would rather redo a few rows on the spot.

Preparation
Come with freshly washed, dry and detangled hair washed with shampoo only. Conditioner and oils make the hair slippery and weaken the grip during braiding.

Care while you wear them
Focus on the scalp, not on the braids themselves. Mix a mild shampoo with water in an applicator bottle and apply along the partings, massage with your fingertips and rinse without rubbing. Rehydrate the scalp with a light oil to counter itching. Sleep in a silk or satin bonnet to keep the surface smooth for longer.

How long do they stay in?
From a few weeks up to three months depending on size. Take them out too early rather than too late – once the regrowth gets long, the braids start pulling under their own weight.
