Description

Crochet braids hook ready-made strands into a braided base with a crochet needle. Because the hair is already shaped, fitting is considerably faster than ordinary braiding, and you get full volume and length in a fraction of the time.

What's included

Braiding your own hair into thin cornrows as a base, and fitting lightweight synthetic hair with a crochet needle. You choose shade and texture in the salon.

Before your visit

Come with dry, detangled hair washed with a clarifying shampoo, without conditioner or oils.

Durability and care

The style normally lasts two to three months. Sleep with a silk cap or scarf, dab the scalp with diluted shampoo when needed and rehydrate with a light mist without disturbing the hair.

Booking

The service is carried out in our salons in Uppsala and Stockholm. Choose your location when adding the service to the cart.

Your first step arrow-icon

We recommend a consultation before your braiding appointment so that we can review your hair, desired style, and length.

Before your treatment arrow-icon

Come with clean, dry, and thoroughly detangled hair. Avoid heavy oils, hair masks, and styling products near the scalp before your appointment. If hair extensions are to be used, we will help you choose the color, length, and material that suit your desired braiding style.

During the treatment arrow-icon

We carefully section the hair and braid it according to the chosen style, such as box braids, Dutch braids, cornrows, men’s braids, children’s braids or crochet braids. The braids are adapted to your hair, your scalp and how tight, long or full you want the result to be.

Braid care instructions arrow-icon

Protect your scalp with light moisturization, consider sleeping with a scarf or satin bonnet, and avoid unnecessary friction. Wash gently when needed and do not pull tightly on the braids. For the best durability, follow the salon's advice for your specific braid style.

Frequently asked questions about braids

How does the product/method work?

We first create a foundation of thin cornrows across the entire scalp. Then we use a hook to crochet the extensions into the braids, resulting in a very full and seamless finish.

Material - what is it and why does it matter?

We primarily use high-quality, lightweight synthetic hair extensions adapted to the method. The lightweight material is essential for avoiding unnecessary strain on your scalp and your own hair follicles.

Styling with heat tools - what can it withstand?

Synthetic hair extensions cannot withstand heat tools such as flat irons or curling irons. The heat immediately melts the fibers, directly ruining the hairstyle’s structure and potentially damaging your own hair.

Is it suitable for thin/sensitive hair?

Yes, the method is extremely gentle because the extensions are attached to a protective braided base rather than directly to individual strands of hair. For thin or sensitive hair, we adjust the tension of the braids to ensure maximum comfort.

Length and volume options - how do you choose the right one?

During your consultation, we will go through which lengths and textures best suit your face and lifestyle. We will ensure that the final result is even and full, without feeling too heavy to wear.

Colour selection - how do you match it?

You can choose to match your own hair color seamlessly or experiment with exciting new shades. We’ll help you find exactly the right tone from our wide range of colored hair extensions in the salon.

Can it be dyed?

Since we use synthetic hair extensions for this method, they cannot be bleached, toned, or chemically dyed. If you want a new shade, the easiest option is to choose a different color for the extensions at your next appointment.

Care & lifespan - how long does it last?

Crochet braids are highly durable and usually stay beautiful for four to eight weeks. A careful evening routine with a protective hair net or silk bonnet is the key to keeping the hairstyle fresh for a long time.

Difference compared with similar products in the range?

Unlike traditional dreadlocks, crochet braids are quicker to install because the extensions are crocheted into pre-sectioned hair. The method also provides unbeatable volume right from the roots and completely conceals your own hair.

Storage & sleeping at night - what applies?

It is absolutely essential to tie your hair up and sleep with a silk bonnet or scarf every night. This effectively protects both the extensions from becoming tangled and your braided base from becoming frizzy due to the bedding.
