Invisible weft – everything you need to know
Invisible weft is our most exclusive and discreet hair weft. It is made from 100% real Remy hair and has an ultra-thin edge that lies flat against the head and blends in almost invisibly. That is why invisible weft suits both thick hair and thin or fine hair, where a regular edge is more easily seen or felt. Here we explain what invisible weft is, how it differs from a regular hair weft and how to choose the right one.
What is invisible weft?
A hair weft is real hair gathered in one edge and placed in rows in the hair to add length and volume. Invisible weft is a further development where the edge is so thin that it can hardly be seen. The weft adds no height against the head, and the result is natural and seamless. To learn more about hair weft in general, read our guide What is hair weft?
The difference from a regular hair weft
A regular hair weft has a thicker edge that can be felt and seen in the hair. It works best for thicker hair where the edge is easier to hide. Invisible weft instead has an ultra-thin edge that lies flat, feels lighter and more comfortable to wear every day and gives a more discreet result. The edge can also be cut without fraying, which makes the weft easy to adapt to the shape of your head.
Is invisible weft suitable for thin hair?
Yes. Because the edge is so thin and lies flat against the head, invisible weft is a good choice even if your hair is thin or fine. The edge does not need to be covered by a lot of your own hair to blend in, and the weft does not weigh as much as a heavier edge. If you are unsure what your hair can handle, we are happy to assess it at a free consultation.
Quality: Luxury Remy hair
Our invisible weft comes in Luxury quality, our best quality. The hair is 100% real Remy hair where all the hairs lie in the same direction, so it stays soft and tangles less. The hair is full and even in length, giving a dense, luxurious look without thin ends. To find out more about fullness at the ends, read about the difference between single and double drawn.
Textures and lengths
Invisible weft comes in straight and wavy texture and in lengths of 50, 60 and 70 cm. Straight hair is classic, elegant and easy to style, while wavy hair gives naturally soft waves for a relaxed look. Choose a texture close to your own hair – read more about our hair textures and see where each length ends in our length guide. You will find the right shade with our colour chart.
Styling and colour
Because invisible weft is real hair, it can be coloured, bleached, straightened and curled just like your own hair. Always use heat protection when styling with heat, and let a stylist colour or bleach the hair for the best result.
How long does invisible weft last?
With the right care the hair lasts up to 1–2 years, and the weft can be reused several times. At each follow-up visit the weft is moved up as your own hair grows. Wash the hair gently with a moisturising shampoo and conditioner, brush it daily with a soft extension brush and gather it in a loose braid when you sleep. You will find more tips in the video above and in our hair extension care tips.
How invisible weft is fitted
Invisible weft is fitted by a stylist for an even, long-lasting attachment, without glue, heat or chemicals on your own hair. The weft can, for example, be sewn in or attached with micro rings – we go through which method suits you best at the consultation. Read more about sew-ins, micro weft and butterfly weft, or compare all methods on our hair extension methods page.
How much hair do you need?
The amount depends on how much volume you want and how thick your own hair is, so we always assess it individually. Book a free consultation in Stockholm, in Uppsala or online, or send us a photo of your hair and we will help you work out the right amount.
What does invisible weft cost?
The price depends on the length, the amount of hair and the method you choose. On our page what do hair extensions cost you can see prices per method, and current prices for the hair are shown directly in our invisible weft collection.
