Ready to wear-peruk – vi gör den färdig åt dig - Fairwithhair

Ready to wear means that the wig is ready to wear. In practice, it rarely is straight out of the package. The Lace is still uncut, the style is the factory’s rather than yours, and the curls are still arranged as they were in the box. That is the difference we take care of.

What we do for you

Cut the Lace

The transparent edge at the front must be cut to match your own hairline, millimetre by millimetre. If it is cut too far in, an edge will show; if it is cut too close, the small hairs that make the hairline look natural will disappear. This is the single most important step, and the one most people get wrong at home - a mistake cannot be undone.

Shape the style

A wig comes with a general length and shape. We cut it to suit your face: shorter around the cheeks if you want to soften your features, longer bangs if you want to frame your face, and layers that make the hair move instead of hanging like a straight wall.

Style the wig

We shape it so you can see how it should sit, and show you how to recreate the same look at home. If it is human hair, we can also tone it so it is closer to your previous colour or your skin tone.

Adjust the fit

The straps are tightened or loosened so the wig stays securely in place without feeling tight. A wig that slips makes you feel self-conscious all day; one that is too tight gives you a headache by lunchtime.

Who needs this?

  • You are buying a wig for the first time and do not want to cut the Lace yourself
  • You have a wig at home that you have never been completely happy with
  • You are going to wear a wig every day and want it to look like your hair, not like a wig
  • You have received a wig through the healthcare system and want to make it personal

Two ways to have it done

In the salon. Book an appointment in Stockholm or Uppsala and we will cut it on site, with you in the chair. We make adjustments while you see the result, and you take the finished wig home with you.

As an add-on when you order online. Add the service to your cart together with your new wig, and we will do the work before we ship it. It will arrive ready to put on.

If you only want the Lace cut, choose Lace-Cut. If you want the fit and style included in the same service, Custom Fit is the right choice. All services are available in Wig Atelier.

Do you already have a wig?

Bring it with you. We also work with wigs purchased elsewhere, both human hair and synthetic. If the Lace has already been cut, we can often still rescue the result - but tell us when you book so we can allow the right amount of time.

If you are unsure which wig to choose to begin with, read about human hair versus synthetic hair.

Frequently asked questions

How long does the work take if I order online?

It adds a few days to the delivery time, since the wig needs to go to the workshop before it is shipped. We will contact you if we notice anything that needs to be confirmed with you first.

How do you know what my hairline looks like if I do not come in?

We ask for photos from the front and side, as well as your measurements. The Lace is then cut a little more cautiously than it would be in the salon, leaving room for you to fine-tune it at home.

Can I change the style later?

Yes, it can always be cut shorter or given more layers. The reverse is not possible - wig hair does not grow back. That is why we cut carefully the first time and would rather take off more during a second visit.
