Description

Butterfly Locs have a rougher, airy texture that gives the style character. They are installed with a crochet needle onto cornrows, so your own hair can rest while you wear them.

Material

Soft synthetic fibre. The lightweight material means the style never feels heavy despite the volume.

How to install them

Braid your hair into narrow cornrows along the head. Use a crochet needle to pull the loop of the locs under the braid, thread the locs through the loop and gently tighten.

Care

Cleanse the scalp with a leave-in foam instead of washing the whole locs. Sleep in a satin bonnet to keep the texture.

Frequently asked questions

How does the product/method work?

They're ready-made, textured locs with a built-in loop at the top. You attach them quickly and gently to your own cornrows with a crochet needle.

Material – what is it and why does it matter?

They're made of a high-quality synthetic fibre that feels extremely light. This keeps the style comfortable without weighing your hair down.

Heat styling – what can it handle?

These locs aren't designed for heat tools. They already have a permanent, beautiful texture that you don't need to change.

Is it suitable for fine/sensitive hair?

Yes, the method is gentle as the weight is spread over your own braids. Just don't make your cornrows too tight if you have a sensitive scalp.

Length and volume – how do you choose?

Depending on how full you like the look, you'll normally need 5 to 7 packs. The method itself gives wonderfully big, striking volume.

Choosing a colour – how do you match it?

As your natural hair is safely tucked in cornrows under the locs, there's no need to colour match. That gives you lovely freedom to try completely new shades.

Can it be coloured?

No, synthetic locs can't be chemically coloured. Simply choose your ideal shade from our colour chart.

Care & lifespan – how long does it last?

The style usually stays looking good for about 4 to 6 weeks. It mainly depends on how fast your hair grows and how you care for your scalp.

How does it differ from similar products in the range?

Butterfly Locs stand out for their distinctive, uneven, bubbly texture. They give a much more relaxed, voluminous look than traditional smooth locs.

Storage & sleeping – what should I know?

To keep the texture intact, always sleep in a satin bonnet. It protects the locs from friction and keeps them fresh.
