Vad är hårträns? Guide till weft hair och insytt löshår - Fairwithhair

Hair weft is hair extensions attached to a long strip. It's used to create longer, fuller and more natural-looking hair, and is especially suitable if you want lots of volume and thicker lengths.

Unlike tape and keratin, the hair comes in wider sections that can be adapted to the head. The same hair weft can be sewn in, attached with micro rings or put on clips.

How is hair weft attached?

Which method suits you depends on your own hair, how long you want to wear the extensions and the result you're after.

  • Sew-in – the wefts are sewn onto braids with needle and thread. Secure and gentle, with no glue or heat.
  • Micro weft – small micro rings are clamped around your own hair and the wefts are attached to the rings. Nothing is sewn.
  • Weave – most of your own hair is braided away and the wefts are built up over the braids.
  • Clip-on – the wefts are put on clips for temporary wear.

How long does hair weft last?

Installed hair weft – sew-in and micro weft – is moved up every 2–3 months as your own hair grows. A full weave is redone roughly every three months. The human hair itself can be reused several times with the right care, so you don't buy new hair at every move-up.

Our types of hair weft

Matching your own hair

Choose a colour, length and texture that match your own hair. Match the colour to your ends, not your roots, and choose a texture close to your natural one. You'll find every shade in our colour chart. For the best result, the hair is cut in after installation.

Care

  • Brush gently, always from the ends upwards
  • Use moisturising products and always heat protection when styling
  • Never sleep with wet hair, and don't pull on the attachments
  • Book your follow-up appointment in good time if the hair is permanently installed

Hair weft or tape?

Hair weft often gives more volume and suits you if you want fuller lengths. Tape-in extensions lie flatter against the head and may suit you better if you want more discreet attachments or have very thin hair.

Single drawn or double drawn?

Single drawn has more natural variation in length and thinner ends, which gives a softer fall. Double drawn is fuller from root to tip and suits you if you want maximum volume and thick ends.

Benefits of hair weft

  • Gives the most volume of all our extension methods
  • Can be attached in several different ways depending on your needs
  • Blends softly with your own hair
  • Can be cut and adjusted in width to fit your head shape

Frequently asked questions

You, if you want longer hair, more volume or fuller lengths.

Does hair weft work if you have very thin hair?
Yes, but the method and amount of hair need to be adapted with extra care so the attachments feel comfortable and the result looks natural. Invisible weft is often a good choice then.
