Mesh or wig – which suits you best?

Mesh eller peruk – vad passar dig bäst?

We offer both, so we have no reason to steer you either way. Here are the differences that really decide it.

Wig

A wig sits on the head, not in your hair. You put it on and take it off yourself, it doesn't need any hair growth of your own, and you can wear it the same day you decide.

  • Works no matter how much of your own hair you have
  • You decide when you wear it
  • Your scalp gets a rest when you take it off

Mesh

Mesh stays in until we remove it. You wake up with your hair in place and don't have to think about it – but it does require some of your own hair to attach the net to.

  • Nothing to take on and off
  • Nothing to think about when you exercise, in the wind or when someone hugs you
  • Requires new growth and a healthy scalp

A requisition covers both

Many people think a requisition (rekvisition) – the subsidy from your Swedish region – only applies to wigs. It can also be used for hair extensions, which includes Mesh. The rules and amounts differ between regions, so bring your requisition when you come in – we'll go through what yours covers and handle the contact with the region for you.

The question that usually decides it

Is it about how the hair looks, or about how it feels to wear?

A well-fitted human hair wig looks just as natural as Mesh. The difference is felt in your head, not seen in the mirror. Those who describe their wig as something they put on often feel better switching to Mesh once their hair allows it. Those who love being able to take everything off in the evening usually want to keep their wig.

It doesn't have to be either-or

Many people have both. A wig for the first few months, Mesh once the new growth has come in, and the wig kept as an option for the days you want it. One doesn't rule out the other.

How we help you choose

Come in and try both. We have human hair wigs in our shop at Norrtullsgatan 26B and do Mesh in our salons in Stockholm and Uppsala – so you can see both options on yourself before you decide.
