Wigs thin out where they wear the most: at the parting, along the hairline and where you attach them every day. With re-knotting, we tie new strands of hair by hand, one at a time, into the existing mesh. It's the same craft used when the wig was first made.
When this service is right for you
You can see the cap through the parting. The hairline has become sparse and you have to hide it with styling products. There are bald patches where hair has come out in clumps. The hair itself is still lovely – there's just too little of it.
What you get
We match colour, texture and thickness to the existing hair as closely as we can, and tie in the direction that makes the hair fall naturally. At the hairline we tie more sparsely at the front and more densely further back, just like a real hairline.
Colour matching on human hair is never exact. We get close, and the difference doesn't show in the finished result, but we don't promise an identical shade.
How it works
Send photos of the area that needs filling in, ideally with the wig on your head. We assess the area and give you a fixed quote – the price depends on how large an area needs to be knotted. The amount shown here is the starting price for a smaller area.
This is the most time-consuming work we do. Allow two to four weeks from when we receive the wig.
Afterwards
Newly knotted hair is just as secure as the original, but treat the area gently the first few times you brush. Use a soft brush and brush from the ends upwards.
