Wig Thinning

Most wigs are made with more hair than a real head has. It's done on purpose – it looks full in the packaging – but on the head the result is often heavy, warm and a little too much. With thinning, we remove excess hair so the wig moves like your own hair.

What we do

We thin the hair evenly throughout, from the inside out, so the length and shape stay the same but the weight disappears. We focus especially on the top of the head and the nape, where the weight is felt the most. We decide together how much to remove – we'd rather take it carefully in two rounds than too much at once.

What you'll notice

The wig becomes lighter to wear all day and cooler on your head. It sits closer to the shape of your head instead of puffing out, and the hair gains movement instead of falling as one compact mass.

How to order

Add the service when you buy your wig from us, and we'll thin it before we ship. If you'd rather watch the result take shape, book an appointment at the salon in Uppsala or Stockholm and sit with us while we work.

If you order Custom Fit, we're happy to do the thinning in the same session.

Important to know

Thinning can't be undone. Hair doesn't grow back in a wig. That's why we'd rather ask one time too many before we take off more.
