FAQs

How do I fasten a ponytail piece?

Gather your own hair into a ponytail and press the comb or clip in just above the elastic. Then wrap the enclosed strand of hair around the attachment and pin it in place.

Does the attachment show?

No, not if you wrap the enclosed strand of hair around it and pin it in place. If your own hair is very fine, you can also lay a thin strand of your own hair around the attachment instead.

Does a ponytail piece work with short hair?

You need to be able to gather your own hair into a ponytail, roughly shoulder length. If your hair is shorter than that, the transition shows.

Can I wear a high ponytail?

Yes, both high and low work. A high ponytail shows more of the attachment, so be careful to wrap the strand of hair all the way around.

How long does a ponytail piece last?

Human hair lasts a long time with the right haircare, since it is only worn for a few hours at a time. Vegan has a shorter life.

Everything you need to know about Ponytail Hair Extensions

Ponytail Extensions – a Ponytail in Minutes
A ponytail piece is fastened around your own gathered ponytail and stays put all day. No appointment, no glue and no heat. We have worked with extensions since 2009 and only sell hair we fit ourselves at our salons in Stockholm and Uppsala.

Human hair or vegan synthetic
Human hair can be straightened, curled, colored darker and washed like your own. It moves naturally and lasts a long time with the right haircare. Choose it if you wear your ponytail often or want to be able to restyle it. Vegan synthetic has the shape built into the fiber. It never needs restyling and looks the same every time you put it on, even after washing. It handles less heat and cannot be colored, but costs considerably less and comes in more shades.

Comb or claw clip
Our ponytails fasten in two ways. A comb is pressed into your own gathered ponytail and holds firmly even in fine hair. A claw clip grips around the ponytail and is quicker to put on. Both are then hidden by a strand of hair wrapped around the attachment and pinned in place.

How to put it on
Start by brushing through both your own hair and the ponytail piece. Gather your hair where you want the ponytail, high or low, and spray lightly with hairspray if your hair is fine, so the attachment has something to grip. Press the comb or clip in just above your own elastic. Wrap the enclosed strand of hair around the attachment, pin it in place and brush the transition together.

Choosing length and color
Shorter lengths give discreet volume for everyday wear, longer ones give clear impact. Choose the color by gathering your own hair into a ponytail and matching against the hair in the ponytail itself, not against the roots – that is the color that will sit next to your piece. If you are unsure, send a daylight photo of unwashed, air dried hair and we will look at it together.

Care
Take your ponytail out before you sleep. Brush gently from the ends upward. Wash rarely and only when needed, and let it air dry. Store it hanging or in a bag, not rolled up. Always use heat protection when styling, and on synthetic at a low temperature.
