Yaki
FAQs
Yaki is the name of a straight hair extension texture with a fine micro-texture that mimics blown-out or relaxed hair. The name is an industry standard and is used the same way in every market.
Yaki has a subtle micro-texture and suits relaxed or blown-out hair with a smoother surface. Kinky is denser and more textured and matches natural afro hair with a stronger texture. Go by how your hair looks when air-dried.
Your own hair is rarely glassy, even after a blow-out. Next to bone-straight extensions the join shows, while Yaki is closer to your own surface and makes the transition softer.
Hair weft comes in 50 and 60 cm in shades 1B and 2. Clip-on comes in 50 and 60 cm in shades 1, 1B and 2. If you need a different shade, we'll place a special order.
Each hair weft weighs 100 grams. Most people need two to three wefts for both length and fullness, fewer if you only want to add thickness. The clip-on set weighs 150 grams and is enough for a full extension.
The weft is cut into sections to suit your head shape and attached with sew-in, weave or micro weft. We work from the nape upwards so the attachments are hidden under your own hair. Installation is done in Stockholm and Uppsala.
The hair is genuine Remy and can take both heat and colour. But if you straighten hard, you smooth out the micro-texture and lose what makes Yaki look natural. Use heat protection and low to medium heat, and let a hairdresser do the colouring.
With the right care, one to three years. Hair weft needs regular move-ups depending on the method, while clip-on is only worn for a few hours at a time and so wears less.
Wash with a moisturising shampoo and conditioner for textured hair extensions. Let the hair air-dry flat or blow-dry on low heat with heat protection. Brush daily with a suitable brush and braid loosely before bed.
Send us a daylight photo of unwashed, air-dried hair and we'll look at it together. You can also book a free consultation, online or in the salon in Stockholm and Uppsala.
