Kinky

Kinky has a denser, more textured surface than Yaki. It imitates natural afro hair that has been blow-dried straight, so it blends in without you having to flat-iron your own hair hard. It adds volume and grip, and holds its shape even in humid weather.

FAQs

What's the difference between Kinky and Yaki?

Yaki has a subtle micro-texture and matches relaxed or blown-out hair with a smoother surface. Kinky is denser and more textured and matches natural afro hair with a stronger texture. Go by how your hair looks air-dried, not freshly styled.

Do I have to straighten my own hair?

No, and that's the whole point of the texture. Kinky mimics afro hair that's been blown out straight, so the transition matches without hard straightening. A light blow-out is enough for most people.

How much hair is in a set?

Our Kinky clip-on set weighs 150 grams, which is enough for a full hair extension and not just added thickness. Most sets on the market are 100–120 grams.

Which lengths and colours are available?

The set comes in 40, 50 and 60 cm and in shades 1, 1B and 2, which cover most naturally dark hair colours. If you need a different shade, we'll place a special order.

Does the texture hold up in humid weather?

Yes. Your own hair returns to its natural texture in humidity while bone-straight extensions stay flat, and then the join shows. Kinky moves the same way as your own hair, so the transition holds.

Can I heat-style and colour the hair?

The hair is 100% genuine Remy and takes heat and colour just like your own. Always use heat protection and low to medium heat. If you want to colour it, we recommend having a hairdresser do it, and going darker rather than lighter.

How long does a set last?

With the right care, one to three years. Clip-on is only worn for a few hours at a time, so it causes less wear on the hair than permanent methods.

How do I put it in?

Section the hair with a horizontal parting and clip the top hair up. Lightly backcomb the roots where the clips will sit and press them in until you hear a click. Start with the widest pieces at the bottom of the head and work upwards.

How do I care for textured hair extensions?

Wash rarely and use moisturising products made for textured hair. Gently squeeze out the moisture and let the hair air-dry flat. Brush only with an extension brush and store the set hanging or flat in a bag.

How do I know I've chosen the right texture?

Send us a daylight photo of unwashed, air-dried hair and we'll look at it together. You can also book a free consultation, online or in the salon in Stockholm and Uppsala.

Everything you need to know about Kinky

Kinky hair extensions – a texture that matches blown-out afro hair
Kinky is a straight hair extension with a denser, more textured surface than Yaki. The fine, even texture lets the hair fall the way natural afro hair does when it's been blown out straight. So you don't need to straighten your own hair hard for the transition to match.

Why the result holds up in humidity too
In humid air your own hair returns to its natural texture while bone-straight extensions stay flat, and then the join shows. Kinky moves the same way as your own hair.

Kinky or Yaki?
Both mimic blown-out hair, but to different degrees. Yaki has a subtle micro-texture and suits smoother surfaces. Kinky is denser and matches a stronger texture. Go by how your hair looks air-dried, not freshly styled.

How much hair is included
Our clip-on set weighs 150 grams and is enough for a full extension, not just added thickness. It comes in 40, 50 and 60 cm in shades 1, 1B and 2. If you need a different shade, we'll place a special order.

Quality
Genuine Brazilian Remy hair, with all strands facing the same way. With the right care, the set lasts one to three years.
