Hair care for hair extensions

Hair extensions, wigs and hairpieces get no nourishment from the scalp. They need their own routine: gentle cleansing that does not strip the color, moisture in the lengths and heat protection before styling. Here you will find the products that are safe to use on both human hair and extensions.

Vanliga frågor

Why do hair extensions need their own hair care?

Your extensions get no nourishment from the scalp. They need gentle cleansing, extra moisture in the lengths and heat protection before styling.

Which products suit hair extensions?

A gentle shampoo and conditioner for washing, a mask and leave-in for moisture, plus serum and heat protection before blow drying and flat ironing.

Can I use my regular shampoo?

We recommend a gentle shampoo. Harshly cleansing shampoos dry out the hair faster and can make the shade look paler.

How often should I wash my extensions?

Wash them when needed, usually less often than your own hair. Always brush the hair out before washing and wash in lukewarm water.

Can conditioner and masks be used near the bonds?

No. Keep conditioner, masks and oil away from the bonds, otherwise tape and keratin release earlier. Apply from a bit below the bond and out toward the ends.

How do I dry my hair extensions?

Squeeze out the water with a towel and let the hair air dry for a while. Use heat protection if you blow dry or flat iron.

What can I do about dry ends?

Use a mask on the lengths and ends about once a week and finish with a serum or leave-in. Avoid the bonds.

How do my extensions keep their color?

Use color-protecting products and avoid harshly cleansing shampoos. A color shampoo refreshes the shade between treatments.

Do the products work on wigs and hairpieces?

Yes, on wigs and hairpieces in human hair. If you have a synthetic wig, you will find the right products under Hair care for synthetic hair.

How fast will I receive my order?

Orders from our webshop are delivered within 2–3 days in Sweden.

Allt du behöver veta om Hair care for hair extensions

Hair care for extensions
Hair extensions, wigs and hairpieces get no nourishment from the scalp. They dry out faster than your own hair and need their own routine: gentle cleansing, moisture in the lengths and heat protection before styling.

Washing
Always brush the hair out before you wash it, so it does not tangle. Wash in lukewarm water with a gentle shampoo and work downward in the direction of growth. Harshly cleansing shampoos dry out the hair and can make the shade look paler.

Moisture
Use conditioner on the lengths at every wash and a mask about once a week. A leave-in or serum on the ends keeps the hair soft between washes.

Keep the bonds clean
Conditioner, masks and oil should not end up on or near the bonds. That makes tape and keratin release earlier. Apply from a bit below the bond and out toward the ends.

Drying and heat
Squeeze out the water with a towel and let the hair air dry for a while. Always use heat protection before blow drying and flat ironing.

Colored extensions
Color-protecting products keep the shade longer, and a color shampoo refreshes the tone between treatments.

Wigs and hairpieces
The products work on wigs and hairpieces in human hair. If you have a synthetic wig or synthetic extensions, you will find the right products under Hair care for synthetic hair.
