Choosing the right hair extensions isn't just about colour or length. For a natural result, the colour, length, thickness and hair quality need to work with your own hair.

The right choice means your extensions blend in better, feel more comfortable and are easier to style.

Choose the right colour

Colour matching is one of the most important steps. Always look at the lengths and ends, not just the hair at the roots. You'll find all our shades in the colour chart.

If you have highlights, balayage or several shades, a mixed colour or two shades can give a more natural result. It's a good idea to look at the colour in daylight before you decide.

If the colour isn't a perfect match

Hair extensions don't always have to be exactly the same colour, but they should harmonise with the overall look.

You can blend two shades, choose a colour with a highlighted effect, or get help from a hairdresser if colour adjustment is possible.

Choose the right length

Length affects how natural the result looks. Shorter extensions often look more natural, while longer hair needs more care and better cutting-in.

If you're unsure, 40–50 cm is often a safe choice. It adds length without feeling too extreme.

Choose the right thickness

The thickness should match your own hair. Thin hair often needs a smaller amount, while thick hair often needs more extensions for the transition to look natural.

Too much hair can feel heavy, while too little can give thin, uneven lengths.

Single drawn or double drawn

Single drawn has thinner ends and a more natural fall. It suits you if you want a softer result.

Double drawn is fuller all the way down and suits you if you want thick ends and more glamour.

Choose the right method

Different methods suit different needs. Tape-in gives flat attachments, hair weft gives lots of volume, clip-in suits temporary styling and keratin allows flexible placement. Compare all hair extension methods.

If you need volume on top, a hair topper may be a better option than regular hair extensions.

Common mistakes to avoid

Avoid choosing the colour based on your roots, buying hair that's too long straight away, or choosing the wrong amount of hair.

And don't forget that extensions often need to be cut in and styled together with your own hair to look natural.
