A receding hairline is usually the first thing people notice, and at the same time the most difficult area to solve elegantly. The reason is simple: the hairline is what people look at. Lace is an almost transparent mesh where each hair is hand-tied. When it lies against the skin, the hair looks as if it is growing directly from the skin’s surface, with no visible edge. It is the only construction that can create a bare hairline without bangs. A wig with a fabric edge at the front works perfectly well - but then you need to wear bangs or have some hair in front of the edge. If you still have hair on the sides and back, a toupee with Lace at the front is usually best. It covers the hairline and the top of the head, while your own hair frames it. The transition looks natural because you retain your own hairline at the temples and nape. If hair loss is more widespread, a full men’s wig is easier to work with, since you do not have to match it to existing hair. The most common mistake is placing the hairline too far forward, where it was when you were twenty. A mature male hairline naturally sits slightly farther back and has a gently irregular edge, never a straight line. We always adjust this during the fitting. With a bare hairline, glue or tape is required to keep the edge flat. You can find products for this under glue and tape. Not sure what suits you?
