Hösttid för håret – så gör du en uppflytt efter sommaren - Fairwithhair

After a summer of sun, swimming and heat, the attachments rarely sit as nicely as they did in June. The hair has grown out, the colour may have faded and the ends often need a trim. Autumn is the most common time of year for a move-up appointment with us.

What a move-up involves

We remove the hair extensions, clean your own hair and reattach the hair closer to the scalp. Your own hair grows approximately one centimetre per month, and when the attachments have slipped down too far, they are easier to see and put more strain on the hair than they should. Most methods need to be moved up every six to ten weeks, but this depends on how quickly your hair grows and which method you have.

We check the condition of your hair at the same time

Salt and chlorine dry out both your own hair and the extensions, and blonde hair often takes on a warmer or greener tone after weeks by the pool. We wash it with the right product, provide a treatment if needed and tone it when necessary so that the colour blends evenly with your own hair again.

This is also when you notice whether the hair itself needs replacing. Human hair extensions last a long time when properly cared for, but after a year of heat styling and sun, the ends may feel thin. Often, it is enough to add a few new strands or wefts to the lower section instead of replacing everything.

We recommend booking your move-up before the autumn darkness makes everyone want an appointment at the same time. November and December are our busiest period.

Frequently asked questions

How do I know when it is time for a move-up?

When you can clearly feel the attachments with your fingers, see them in the parting or when the hair starts to tangle closer to the scalp. You may also notice that the hair feels heavier than usual.

Can I use the same hair again after the move-up?

Yes, in most cases. We clean the hair, remove anything that is worn and reattach the rest. How many times this is possible depends on the quality and how well it is cared for.

Do I need to book more time for a move-up than for a new application?

No, a move-up usually takes less time than a new application because the hair has already been selected and colour-matched. If you would also like a cut or toning, book this as an add-on.
