FAQs

How does a halo hairband work?

The hairpiece sits on a thin, transparent wire that is placed like a crown around the head. Your own top hair is let down over the wire and hides it.

Where do I place the wire?

Roughly one to two centimetres behind your natural hairline. Section off your top hair first and let it down over the wire afterwards.

Does the wire show?

The wire carries the weight of the hair against your head instead of pulling on individual strands. No clips in the roots, no glue against the skin and nothing left in while you sleep.

Is a halo right for me if my hair is very thin?

Yes, as long as you have enough hair on top to cover the wire. If it is sparse in that area, a hairpiece or topper works better.

Does the wire show?

Brush gently, wash infrequently with mild shampoo, let air dry and store flat or on a hanger between uses.

Everything you need to know about Halo Hairband

Halo hairband – the hair rests on your head
A halo hairband is a hairpiece attached to a thin, transparent wire. The wire sits like a crown around the head and carries the weight of the hair itself instead of pulling on individual strands. Your own top hair is then let down over the wire and hides it.

Our gentlest option
No other method we sell puts so little strain on your own hair. No clips at the roots, no glue against the skin and nothing left in while you sleep. That is why we recommend a halo for a sensitive scalp, fragile hair or when your hair needs a rest from other methods.

What you need to know
A halo requires enough hair of your own on top to cover the wire. If your hair is very sparse there, the wire can show, and a hairpiece or topper works better.

How to put it on
Section off the top part, place the wire one to two centimetres behind your hairline and let your hair down over it. Some models have small clips at the sides. They aren't needed, but give extra stability if you move a lot.

Care
Take the halo off before you sleep or shower. Brush from the ends upwards, wash rarely and let it air dry flat.
