Hur länge hair weft och microträns håller - Fairwithhair

Hair weft with micro weft is one of the most durable methods we work with. How long it lasts depends partly on the quality of the hair and partly on what you do at home.

On average

  • A move-up roughly every two to three months
  • The hair can be reused several times at each move-up
  • With the right care, the hair itself lasts considerably longer than that

The move-up is needed because your own hair grows out and pulls the rows down – not because the hair is worn out.

Your hair type makes a difference

  • Fine hair does best with light rows and less hair
  • Normal hair usually lasts the longest
  • Thick hair needs more hair for an even fall

Routines that extend the lifespan

  • Brush gently every day, from the bottom up
  • Use a sulphate-free shampoo
  • Apply conditioner to the lengths, never at the rows
  • Heat protection every time you style
  • Never pull on the rows when you put your hair up

Washing

Wash roughly every five to eight days. Massage your scalp gently, let your hair dry completely before bed and use a hair mask about once a week. Our hair care bundles work on both your own hair and extensions.

At night

Sleep with your hair in a loose braid, use a satin or silk pillowcase and never sleep with wet hair. This reduces friction at the rows, which is where tangles start.

Signs it's time for a move-up

  • The rows feel loose
  • The hair weft sits visibly lower
  • You get more tangles near the attachments
  • The hair feels heavy or unbalanced

Don't wait any longer than that. Late move-ups are the most common reason hair has to be sacrificed unnecessarily.

Keep your hair beautiful for longer

  • Hair oil on the ends, not at the rows
  • Avoid alcohol-based products
  • Protect against strong sun and chlorine
  • Brush both before and after styling
