The right amount of hair is what decides whether a sew-in looks natural. Too little gives thin ends, too much creates weight you can both see and feel.
The amount is counted in wefts, or hair wefts as they're often called.
Why the amount matters
The right amount gives even fullness, a soft fall and long wear – without straining the braids. It's as much about the health of your own hair as about how it looks.
Fine hair
- Usually one to two hair wefts
- Focus on natural fullness rather than length
- Avoid adding a lot of length and a lot of volume at the same time
Normal hair
- Usually two to three hair wefts
- Works for both volume and length
- The most common amount with us
Thick hair
- Usually three to four hair wefts
- More hair is needed for an even fall
- Otherwise the transition between your own hair and the extensions shows
Length affects it
The longer the hair, the more amount is needed so the ends don't look thin. Short and mid-length manage with less.
So does texture
- Straight hair needs more amount to feel full
- Wavy hair creates volume on its own
- Curly and Deep Wave look full with less

How to tell the amount is right
- The hair has even fullness all the way down
- No thin ends
- You feel no weight on your scalp
- The hair moves with you
We work it out for you
