FAQs

What is the difference between lace front and lace front plus?

Lace front, or t-lace, has lace in a narrower strip at the hairline. Lace front plus has more lace and extends further back, so you can move the hair away from your face without an edge showing.

Do I need to trim the lace?

Yes, the first time. The top edge is shaped to your own hairline. It cannot be undone, so we are happy to do it for you in our Wig Atelier.

Can I put the hair up in a ponytail?

Not entirely. Lace front plus gives freedom at the front, but to put the hair up completely you need full lace, where the whole cap is built on lace.

Can I change the part?

You can vary the part in the front section. If you want a completely free part from temple to temple, lace frontal is the right model.

Do I need glue or tape?

No. Every wig we sell is glueless and stays in place with an adjuster at the nape, with no products against the skin.

Everything you need to know about Lace Front Plus Wig

Lace Front Plus – a Natural Hairline and Freedom at the Front
Lace is a thin, transparent material that the hair strands are hand-tied into. When it lies against the skin, the transition between wig and forehead disappears and the hair looks as though it grows out of the scalp. Lace front plus has more lace than an ordinary lace front, which gives you a natural hairline even when the hair is styled backwards.

The difference from lace front
An ordinary lace front, which we also call t-lace, has lace in a narrower strip at the hairline. That is plenty when the hair falls forward as intended. Lace front plus extends further back, so you can move the hair away from your face and vary the part in the front section without an edge becoming visible. If you want a completely free part from temple to temple, lace frontal is the right model, and if you want to put the hair up entirely, full lace is what you need.

The difference from Classic Cap
Classic Cap has no lace and hides the hairline with bangs or with the shape of the style instead. It asks nothing of you but is worn as it is. Lace front plus gives you freedom of movement at the front in exchange for one step: the lace needs trimming to your own hairline the first time.

Trimming the lace
The lace arrives with a top edge that should be shaped to your forehead. It is done once, with scissors against the hairline, but it cannot be undone – cut too close and the lace does not grow back. We are happy to do it for you in our Wig Atelier, including on wigs you bought elsewhere.

Human hair or vegan
In vegan synthetic the style takes back its shape on its own after washing, so there is nothing to restyle. In human hair you can cut the wig to suit your face, heat style it and have it colored darker at a salon, and it lasts several years rather than months. Both are available in this construction.

Fit
Most of our wigs are medium and adjust at the nape. If the cap needs taking in or letting out, we do that in our Wig Atelier. If you have a sensitive scalp there is Comfort Cap, our cap with no clips or combs that sits with adjustable drawstrings instead.

Care
A wig needs washing roughly every fifteenth to twentieth wear. Be extra gentle around the lace – it is the most delicate part of the wig. Never pull the lace when taking the wig off; release it at the nape and lift from the front.
