FAQs

What does Remy hair mean?

That every strand runs with the cuticles facing the same direction, just as hair grows. The hair tangles less, keeps its shine longer and stays soft even after many washes.

Which method suits my hair?

If your hair is fine or thin, tape, keratin strands and mesh are usually the gentlest. With normal to thick hair, hair wefts, invisible weft and butterfly weft all work well. We go through your hair at a free consultation.

Can the hair be colored?

Yes, it is Remy human hair and can be colored darker at a salon. We advise against bleaching, since the hair is already processed and turns brittle easily.

How long does each method last?

Tape is moved up every 8–10 weeks, microrings and microwefts every 2–3 months. Keratin strands last 3–4 months and are then reset completely. Clip-in, halo and ponytail only stay in for the day you wear them.

How much hair do I need?

Keratin strands are sold in packs of 20. 20–40 strands give highlights or fill-in, 40–80 thickness, 100–140 length and 160–200 an extra full result. Longer hair needs the upper end of each range.

Everything you need to know about Real Hair Extensions

Remy Human Hair Extensions – How to Choose
Every extension in this category is 100% Remy human hair. Remy means all strands run with the cuticles facing the same direction, exactly as hair grows. That is why the hair tangles less, keeps its shine longer, and can be colored darker and heat styled just like your own hair.

The methods and who they suit
Hair wefts are sewn to a braid and build a lot of volume quickly – best if you have normal to thick hair. Invisible weft and butterfly weft are attached to microrings instead. Butterfly weft has pre-drilled holes that the rings are threaded through and is never sewn, with no needle, glue or heat. Tape lies flat against the head and is gentle on fine hair. Keratin strands, also called nail hair, are small individual bonds placed exactly where you want length or volume. Clip-in, halo and ponytail you put in and take out yourself, with no permanent attachment at all.

How long does it stay in?
Tape is moved up every 8–10 weeks. Microrings and microwefts are moved up every 2–3 months. Keratin strands stay in for 3–4 months and are then redone – the bond is removed and reset from scratch rather than moved up. Clip-in, halo and ponytail only stay in for the day you wear them.

How much hair do you need?
Keratin strands are sold in packs of 20. 20–40 strands give highlights or fill-in, 40–80 give thickness, 100–140 give length and 160–200 give an extra full result. Shorter lengths sit at the lower end of each range, longer hair at the upper end. Our clip-in sets come in Luxury at 150 g across 6–7 pieces and Classic at 100 g across 7 pieces.

Color and texture
The hair comes straight, wavy and curly, and in the Yaki and Kinky textures. All textures share the same color chart, so you can mix shades freely – a darker root with lighter lengths, for example. If you are unsure, photograph your hair in daylight without flash and send us the picture, and we will match the shade for you.

Care
Always brush from the ends upward with a brush made for extensions. Wash with a mild, sulfate-free shampoo and apply conditioner and masks to the lengths and ends, never at the bonds. Use heat protection when styling and braid the hair loosely at night. With the right routine, the same hair can be reused through several move-ups.

Advice, installation and reinstallation
We have worked with hair extensions for 17 years and carry out installation and reinstallation at our salons at Norrtullsgatan 26A by Odenplan in Stockholm and at Skolgatan 49 in Uppsala. The consultation is free, and we are just as happy to help you remotely if you shop online.
