It's the question we hear most in the shop: why do you only have human hair here, when you sell synthetic wigs just a few metres away?
The answer isn't that synthetic is bad. It's that the two need different kinds of visits.
Human hair needs a fitting
A human hair wig is a piece of hair craftsmanship that has to be adapted to you: measured, cut to frame your face and sometimes toned. It can be heat styled, restyled and worn in different ways over the years. All of that takes time, a chair, a mirror and someone to do the cutting.
That's why 26B works by appointment only. The shop is designed for a visit that takes an hour, not for popping in on the way past.
What human hair gives you
- It moves like hair. It's usually the movement, not how it looks in a still photo, that decides whether anyone notices you're wearing a wig.
- It handles heat. You can blow-dry, straighten and curl it, with heat protection.
- It lasts longer with daily wear. Cared for properly, it lasts several years, not months.
- It can be toned darker if the colour doesn't match how your own hair used to look.
When synthetic is the better choice
We say this in the shop too, and we mean it: a heat-resistant synthetic wig is often a smart choice.
- As a second wig, when your first one is in for service or when you want to switch up your style.
- When you want a hairstyle that stays in place after washing without you having to style it.
- At the beginning, if you need something quickly and don't want to commit to a bigger decision.
- When budget is the deciding factor. That's a perfectly reasonable reason and nothing you need to defend.
You'll find those wigs with us at Norrtullsgatan 26A, in our salon and shop a few doors down.
Many people have both
A common set-up among our customers: a human hair wig for everyday wear and a synthetic wig as a backup. One doesn't rule out the other, and having two makes both last longer because neither is worn every day.
Come and feel the difference
It's hard to judge on a screen. In the shop you can hold both in your hands and see them on your own head in daylight, and then the choice is usually easy.
