What is a closure wig?
A closure wig has a hand-tied lace section of 4x4 to 6x6 inches at the front on top of the head, where the parting sits. The rest of the wig is machine-sewn, which makes it sturdy, durable and affordable. Our closure wigs are made of real hair.
What is the difference between closure, frontal and full lace?
A closure wig only has lace where the parting sits. A frontal has lace along the entire hairline from ear to ear, so you can comb your hair back from your forehead. A full lace wig has lace over the whole head. Closure is the easiest to wear and the lowest in price.
Do I need glue or tape for a closure wig?
No. Our closure wigs stay in place with the adjustable straps on the inside, so you need neither glue nor tape.
What is the difference between a 4x4, 5x5 and 6x6 closure?
The numbers give the size of the lace section in inches: 4x4 is about 10x10 cm, 5x5 about 12x12 cm and 6x6 about 15x15 cm. The larger the lace section, the more of the head looks like a natural scalp and the more freely you can place your parting.
How long does a closure wig last?
It depends on the quality. Luxury lasts 1–2 years with the right care, and up to 5 years if the lace is repaired. Premium lasts 3–5 months and Classic 2–4 months.
Can I get a requisition (rekvisition) for a closure wig?
Yes, for Luxury. We are an approved supplier of wigs on requisition in all 21 Swedish regions. Classic and Premium are not sold on requisition. Email the requisition to info@fairwithhair.se and we will adjust the amount on your order. Read more about how a requisition works.
Is a closure wig suitable if I have alopecia or hair loss?
It can work, but for hair loss we usually recommend Lace Front Plus, Mono Top, Mono Part or Classic Cap. If you choose a closure due to illness, we recommend Luxury. Feel free to book a free consultation and we will help you find the right style.
Can I dye or bleach a closure wig?
Yes, since it is made of real hair. Have a hairdresser do it and test on a small strand first.
How do I wash and care for my closure wig?
Wash the wig once a week to every other week in lukewarm water with shampoo for real hair, moisturise the lengths and let it air-dry on a wig stand. Brush gently from the ends upwards, and always use heat protection when styling.
Can I get help choosing before I order?
Yes. Book a free video consultation and we will help you choose style, size and colour. You can also call us on +46 76-415 90 00, Monday–Friday 10 am–4 pm.
