The short answer: yes. Many of our customers wear a wig every day, all year round. But daily wear comes with a few requirements that are worth knowing about before you buy. Take the wig off at night. Your scalp needs air, and you avoid unnecessary friction against the pillow. If you still have some of your own hair underneath, it's also important that it gets washed and dries properly – moisture trapped under a wig is what causes itching and irritation. It gets warmer under a wig, especially in summer and when you exercise. Choose a base with ventilation if you wear it for many hours a day, and don't blame the quality if you're wearing a dense cap in 25-degree heat. This is the advice that surprises most people. If you have two wigs and alternate between them, together they last considerably more than twice as long as a single one. The material gets to rest and recover its shape, and you always have a clean one to put on while the other dries. A synthetic men's wig as a second option is cheap insurance. With daily wear: wash every two to three weeks, more often in summer. Use products made for wigs and hairpieces. Regular shampoo is too harsh and wears down the knots in the base. Daily wear causes wear and tear – there's no getting around it. Expect four to six months for synthetic hair and considerably longer for human hair with the right care.Your scalp benefits from breaks
