Frequently asked questions about keratin treatment
The shampoo works by temporarily raising the hair's pH and opening the cuticle on every single strand. This lets the keratin that follows penetrate deeply rather than just sitting on the surface.
It contains deep-cleansing agents that break down stubborn product residue, minerals and natural oils. A completely clean surface is essential for the keratin treatment to bond fully and last a long time.
This product is only for the preparatory wash and doesn't contain any heat protection itself. You only use your heated tools in the later steps of the treatment, following the keratin's instructions.
Yes, this shampoo is designed for all hair types about to have a keratin treatment. If your hair is very fragile and thin, though, be gentle when massaging the product in.
For short to medium-length hair, a smaller amount of shampoo is plenty for the two recommended washes. If you have long, very thick hair, choose a larger bottle to make sure all your hair is thoroughly clean.
The shampoo suits all hair colours and is used before every variant: Original, Gold and Onyx.
The shampoo doesn't colour the hair. As it deep-cleanses, we recommend not using it straight after colouring – ideally colour a few days before the treatment.
The shampoo is only used before each keratin treatment, not for everyday washing. That's why one bottle lasts for several treatments.
Unlike our nourishing sulphate-free shampoos, this one is specially developed to open the cuticle rather than close it. We have many products for everyday use, but this bottle is purely a preparation product.
The shampoo is best kept in your bathroom cabinet, somewhere dark at a steady room temperature. As it's rinsed out straight away, it has no effect at all on how you sleep or protect your hair overnight.
