Everything you need to know about Hair Care for Human Hair Wigs

Hair care for human hair wigs
A human hair wig gets no nourishment from the scalp. That's why the hair needs moisture and protection from the outside to stay soft and glossy. Here we've gathered shampoo, conditioner, treatments and leave-ins from KIS Haircare that suit human hair wigs.

Choose by hair type
Curly and textured hair needs extra moisture, for example the KIS Curls range. Light and coloured hair benefits from rebuilding care such as KIS KeraMax, and dry hair from moisturising KIS KeraMoist.

How to wash your wig
Wash the wig once a week to every other week as needed. First brush out tangles, from the ends upwards. Wash in lukewarm water, gently massage in the shampoo and apply conditioner to the lengths, not near the lace. Rinse thoroughly and let the wig air-dry on a wig stand.

Treatment and leave-in
A treatment every now and then gives the hair extra moisture. Leave-in protects against drying out and makes the hair easier to detangle between washes.

Styling
Always use heat protection before blow-drying, straightening or curling the wig, and keep the tools away from the lace.
