There are days when a wig feels like the obvious choice, and days when it doesn't. Days at home, hospital appointments, early mornings and hot summer days. On those days, a turban isn't a stopgap – it's a choice in its own right.
That's why we carry headwear in our store. Many of our customers wear both a wig and a turban and switch depending on the day. You'll find the full range in our webshop under turbans and headwear for women.
What we have
- Pre-tied turbans. You simply pull them on like a beanie. No tying in front of the mirror and nothing that slips during the day.
- Scarves to tie yourself. More variety, but it takes a little technique. We're happy to show you two or three knots when you visit, and you'll find step-by-step instructions in How to tie your scarf.
- Soft caps for the night. In silk or satin, so they don't rub against the pillow. See our sleep caps and shower caps.
- Volume bands and curls to attach underneath. They give a contour of hair at the nape and temples, so it's less obvious that the head is bare underneath.
What matters when you choose
The material. With hair loss after treatment, the skin on the head is often more tender than usual. Soft cotton or bamboo won't chafe, while stiff viscose can feel like sandpaper.
The seams. A flat seam at the nape is the difference between a turban you forget you're wearing and one you think about all day.
How low it sits on the forehead. Too high and it feels unsteady; too low and the edge ends up at your eyebrows. It's hard to judge from a photo but easy to feel in person.
Turban and wig together
Many people wear a thin cap under their wig to reduce heat and that sticky feeling, especially in the first weeks when the scalp is sensitive. There's no contradiction – they sit on the same shelf in our store. See also our wigs for hair loss and cancer treatment, or read Turban or wig for hair loss.
If you've just received the news
Wondering when hair usually falls out, what feels good against sensitive skin, or how a requisition (rekvisition) from your Swedish region works? We've gathered it all in our guide to headwear during cancer.
Try it on in person
Headwear is hard to buy from a photo. It takes five minutes to try a few styles, and you'll see straight away what feels like you.
