Luxury Double Drawn Hårträns (Hair Weft) – Rak

Sew-in is a secure method, but there are eight mistakes that keep coming up and that affect both the result and how long it lasts. Most of them can be avoided completely.

1. Braids that are too tight

It's easy to think tighter braids hold better. It's the opposite. The braids should be secure but not tight, and it shouldn't hurt after the treatment. If it feels tight, tell us on the spot and we'll redo it.

2. Too much hair for your hair type

  • Fine hair needs a lighter amount
  • Normal hair can take a normal amount
  • Thick hair needs more for an even fall

Too much weight strains the braids and shows in how the hair falls.

3. The hair isn't blended in

Blending is what decides whether the result looks natural. The hair should be cut into your own, the shape adjusted and the colour matched to the lengths and ends – not to the roots.

4. Too long until reinstallation

The most common mistake of all. Reinstallation is needed roughly every two to three months. If you wait longer, tangles start forming at the attachments and the hair feels heavy.

5. The wrong washing and brushing technique

  • Sulphate-free shampoo
  • Massage your scalp gently
  • Hold the braid steady when you brush
  • Always start at the ends

6. Sleeping with wet hair

Wet hair is more fragile, friction against the pillow creates tangles, and moisture left in the braids isn't good for your scalp. Sleep with dry hair, ideally in a loose braid.

7. The wrong products

  • Avoid alcohol-based products near the attachments
  • Avoid heavy styling creams that build up
  • Use leave-in, a light hair oil on the lengths and always heat protection

Our hair care bundles are put together to work on both your own hair and hair extensions.

8. Skipping aftercare

Aftercare is just as important as the sewing itself: the right brush, care with heat and a reinstallation booked in good time.
