Cocochoco Keratin Repair Mask

Keratin treatments and hair botox are often sold side by side and are therefore confused with each other. They solve different problems, and it is entirely possible to need both - but not at the same time.

Keratin treatment smooths

A keratin treatment replenishes protein and locks it in with heat from a flat iron. The result is smoother hair: less frizz, more shine, and shorter styling time. It lasts three to five months and requires 72 hours of rest afterward.

Hair botox moisturizes

Cocochoco Hair Botox, despite its name, is a hair mask, not an injection and not a chemical treatment. It is enriched with collagen, botanical oils, and proteins and works like a moisture injection into the hair shaft. The result is fullness, bounce, and softness - not smoothing. It requires no waiting time afterward.

Which should you choose?

Your problem is frizz, stubborn volume, and lengthy styling time: choose a keratin treatment. Your problem is dry, tired, and damaged hair that has lost its bounce, but you do not want to straighten it: choose hair botox.

If you have both frizz and dryness, keratin is usually the treatment to do first, followed by hair botox as maintenance in between. Do not do them close together.

Aftercare is the same

Both treatments require sulfate-free shampoo and sulfate-free conditioner to last. Sulfates break down both the keratin and the conditioning ingredients in a botox treatment.
