Så håller du färgat hår levande längre

Coloured hair loses its shine and tone faster than uncoloured hair, mainly because of three things: hot showers, sun and washing too often with the wrong products. Every wash opens the outer layer of the hair slightly, and the more often that happens without the right protection, the faster the colour fades.

A routine for longer-lasting colour

  1. Wash in lukewarm, not hot, water – hot water opens the cuticle more and rinses out colour pigments faster.
  2. Use a sulphate-free shampoo, which is gentler on colour pigments than regular shampoo.
  3. Conditioner after every wash – it forms a protective layer and seals the outer layer.
  4. Protect your hair from sun and chlorine when swimming, as both bleach colour especially quickly.

So the difference between a regular shampoo and a colour-protecting one is not just about scent and feel – it is about how much pigment stays in your hair, wash after wash.

Our Colour Protection Kit (shampoo and conditioner) is designed to protect colour pigments and keep your shade fresh for longer between colour appointments.

Frequently asked questions

Why does coloured hair fade faster with some shampoos?
Regular shampoos can contain sulphates that wash out colour pigments faster. Colour-protecting shampoo is gentler.
How warm should the water be when washing coloured hair?
Lukewarm is best – hot water opens the hair's outer layer and makes the colour wash out faster.
Is shampoo enough, or do I need conditioner too?
Conditioner is at least as important – it seals the outer layer and keeps the pigment in the hair.
Does the Colour Protection Kit also protect against sun and chlorine?
The products help the hair hold its colour better in general, but when swimming we recommend extra protection such as a swim cap or some oil before getting your hair wet.
Does the set suit all shades?
Yes, the routine and products work for all shades – they counteract pigment fading in general.
