What it looks like
Small strands with a keratin bond
Keratin extensions, also called nail hair, are human hair in small strands with a keratin bond at the top. Each strand is attached to a thin strand of your own hair with heat, so the bond forms around the hair.
- 1. What?
- Strands with a keratin bond, attached with heat
- 2. Who?
- All textures – very tight curls get a consultation first
- 3. How long?
- 3–4 months, then re-bonding
- 4. Pros/cons?
- Moves freely and naturally – needs a skilled hand
How it is installed
Strand by strand
- We section off a thin strand of your own hair
- The keratin bond is placed on the strand and shaped around the hair with heat
- We continue strand by strand until the amount is right
- After 3–4 months we re-bond
When re-bonding we release the bond with remover and set the strand again with new keratin bonds – it is not moved up like tape or micro rings.

Care
Make your hair last longer
Washing
Mild, moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. Wash downward, not in circles.
Attachments
Keep conditioner, oil and masks off the keratin bonds – otherwise they can slip.
Brushing
Start at the ends and work your way up with an extension brush.
Heat
Use heat protection and keep flat irons and curling irons away from the bonds.

Frequently asked questions about keratin hair extensions
Luxury Nail Hair is applied by heat-sealing small keratin bonds around your own hair with a gentle heat tool. This gives a secure, permanent hair extension that stays in place around the clock.
We use 100% human hair in exclusive Luxury quality and bonds made of keratin, a protein found naturally in your hair. This makes the extension look completely genuine and very gentle on your own hair.
The hair extensions can be styled with heat tools just like your own hair if you want to enhance or reshape the curls. You must avoid applying direct heat to the keratin bonds themselves, though, as they can melt.
Yes, your hairdresser can easily cut the keratin bonds in half to create small, extra-light micro bonds. This makes the method very adaptable and safe even for finer hair types.
For a full extension we recommend 100 to 140 strands depending on your own base thickness, and 160 to 200 strands for thicker hair, a short haircut or a length of 60 to 70 cm. If you only want to add volume, 40 to 80 strands is usually enough, and 20 to 40 for a few accent strands. The strands are sold in packs of 20 and each strand weighs one gram.
You'll get the very best result by matching the colour of the hair extensions to your own ends and lengths. For an extra lively, multidimensional look, it's a good idea to blend two similar shades.
As the hair is 100% human, it can technically be toned to a darker shade. We strictly advise against any form of bleaching, though, and any chemical treatment is always at your own risk as it can shorten the life of the hair.
Our Luxury hair has a fantastic lifespan, and the fitting itself usually lasts three to four months before it's time for a reinstallation. With careful care and plenty of moisture, the hair extensions keep their exclusive quality and soft feel for a long time.
The difference from our standard Nail Hair is that the Luxury range is made from extra carefully selected premium hair with an even longer expected lifespan. This version also has a permanent curly texture, unlike our straight or slightly wavy options.
Gently comb through the hair with your fingers or a wide-tooth comb before bed to separate the curls and avoid tangles. Then braid it into a loose braid to minimise friction and protect both the bonds and the curl structure overnight.
