What does lace mean on a wig?
Lace is a thin, transparent mesh that the hair is hand-tied to, strand by strand. The mesh blends in with the skin, so it looks as if the hair grows straight from the head. The larger the lace area of the wig, the more places you can part the hair and the more of the hairline you can show.
On a Lace Front the lace runs along the hairline, and on a Lace Front Plus the lace area is larger at the front. On a Lace Closure it sits at the front of the top, on a Lace Frontal from temple to temple and on a Full Lace across the whole cap. Mono Top and Mono Part use monofilament instead, an equally thin material that gives the same natural effect. Classic Cap has no lace at all.
How our wig models differ
Not all wigs are built the same way. The difference lies in how the wig is constructed inside, how natural the hairline looks, how much you can style the hair and how comfortable it feels to wear all day. If you would rather start with the fibre, you will find the full range under Human hair wigs and Synthetic wigs.
Classic Cap
A classic wig cap without lace, often with a fringe that frames the face and hides the hairline. A ready-made style that sits right away, at a friendlier price. Available in human hair and synthetic. See all Classic Cap wigs or all wigs with a fringe.
Lace Front
Lace along the front hairline, often called T-lace. A natural hairline at a lower price, for you who like to wear your hair down or half up. Available in synthetic. See all Lace Front wigs.
Lace Front Plus
More lace than a regular Lace Front, which gives you more freedom to style the hair away from your face and vary the part. Available in human hair and synthetic. See all Lace Front Plus wigs.
Mono Part
Monofilament in the part itself, where every strand is hand-tied. The same natural effect as Mono Top, but concentrated where it shows the most. Available in human hair and synthetic. See all Mono Part wigs.
Mono Top
Monofilament at the front of the top of the head, where the hair is hand-tied strand by strand so it looks as if it grows straight from the head. The rest of the cap is made with wefts. Available in human hair and synthetic. See all Mono Top wigs.
Lace Closure
5x5 lace at the front of the top, in the same place as the monofilament on a Mono Top. The hair is hand-tied so the part looks natural, and the part can be moved within the lace area. Available in human hair. See all Lace Closure wigs.
Lace Frontal
13x4 lace from temple to temple with a free part. A natural hairline all the way along the front, and the hair can be worn up. Available in human hair. See all Lace Frontal wigs.
Full Lace
Lace across the whole cap. The most flexible construction – you can wear your hair up, make a ponytail and change the part just like with your own hair. Available in human hair. See all Full Lace wigs.
Which model should I choose?
In short: the more lace, the more styling freedom. The price depends mainly on hair quality and length, not just on the model – which is why, for example, a Lace Frontal in our Classic line can cost less than a Lace Closure in Premium or Luxury. If you want a ready-made style that sits right away, a Classic Cap is enough. If you want to wear your hair up, Lace Frontal or Full Lace is right. If you want the most realistic look on top of the head, choose Mono Top or Lace Closure.
