Skillnaden mellan remy hår och icke remy hår - Fairwithhair

When you buy hair extensions, quality is what decides the result. One of the most important things to understand is the difference between Remy and non-Remy – it determines both how the hair feels and how long it lasts.

Remy

Remy is the highest quality level. All the strands run in the same direction, so the cuticles lie along each other instead of catching.

  • The strands run the same way, from root to tip
  • The hair keeps its natural shine
  • Less risk of tangling and friction

Non-Remy

Non-Remy is hair where the strands have been collected mixed together, with no shared direction.

  • The strands run in different directions
  • The hair is often chemically treated to feel softer
  • It dries out faster and tangles more easily

It can look nice at first, but rarely lasts over time.

Styling and durability

Remy handles styling far better. You can blow-dry, straighten and curl it, the style holds longer and the hair looks good even after several months. Non-Remy easily turns frizzy and loses its shine.

How to spot the difference when shopping online

  • Natural shine, not plasticky
  • Even strands from root to tip
  • No stiffness or odd texture
  • Clear labelling in the product description

If the hair looks unnaturally glossy, it has often been heavily treated or mixed with synthetic fibre.

When Remy is the right choice

Remy suits you if you wear your extensions every day, want to style freely and would rather not replace the hair often. Over time, it usually works out cheaper than buying new hair several times.
