The right amount of hair is what decides whether sew-in hair extensions look natural. Too little hair gives thin ends; too much creates weight you can both see and feel.
The amount is counted in hair wefts.
Why the amount matters
The right amount gives even fullness, a soft fall and long durability – without straining the braids. It's as much about the health of your own hair as about how it looks.
Fine hair
- Usually one to two hair wefts
- Focus on natural fullness rather than length
- Avoid adding lots of length and lots of volume at the same time
Normal hair
- Usually two to three hair wefts
- Works for both volume and length
- Our most common amount
Thick hair
- Usually three to four hair wefts
- More hair is needed for an even fall
- Otherwise the transition between your own hair and the extensions shows
Length makes a difference
The longer the hair, the more you need so the ends don't look thin. Short and medium lengths need less.
Texture matters too
- Straight hair needs more to feel full
- Wavy hair gives volume on its own
- Curly and Deep Wave look full with a smaller amount
See the differences in our range of hair weft.
How to know the amount is right
- The hair has even fullness all the way down
- No thin ends
- You feel no heaviness on your scalp
- The hair moves with you
