Children's wigs in real hair for hair loss

A real hair children's wig can make a big difference when a child loses their hair. Hair loss affects the whole family, which is why we take plenty of time. We have worked with hair replacement for 17 years and welcome children and young people in our salons in Stockholm and Uppsala, without stress and with a focus on making the child feel safe. Here we go through how our children's wigs are made, how to find the right size, how to care for the wig and how requisitions (rekvisition) work.

Luxury real hair in Remy quality
Our children's wigs are made from Luxury real hair in Remy quality. The hair can be cut, coloured and styled just like natural hair. The wig is built with Lace Front Plus – half lace – along the hairline, which gives a natural hairline at the forehead. At the back sits the Comfort Cap, which has no clips or combs, just adjustable straps and a thin edge. Glueless – stays on all school day
The wig is glueless and needs no glue or tape. It stays on through the school day, at break time and during sports, and your child avoids products on their skin. It also makes it easier to take the wig off and put it on at home.

The right size for children
The children's size measures about 50–52 cm around the head. The easiest way to measure is with a tape measure along the hairline at the forehead, above the ears and down to the nape. If you are unsure, we measure together at the consultation, so the wig fits comfortably and securely.

Texture, length and colour
The children's wigs come in two textures, straight (Rak) and wavy (Vågig), and in two lengths: 35 cm or 45 cm. The length is always given as stretched length. The colour is 1B Natural Black. We are expanding the colour range over time, and if you are missing a colour we can often order it in. The children's wig costs 7,900 SEK in 35 cm and 9,400 SEK in 45 cm. How long does a children's wig last?
A children's wig in Luxury real hair lasts 1–2 years with normal use. After about 7–9 months we offer repair and renewal, so the wig can be refreshed instead of replaced. That makes real hair a durable choice for children who wear a wig every day.

Everyday care
A real hair wig is washed once a week to every other week, as needed. We recommend letting the wig air-dry on a wig stand. The wavy texture is often the easiest in everyday life – it air-dries nicely and hides tangles. Because the hair is real, it can also be recut and restyled when your child wants a new look.

A spare wig in vegan synthetic

Requisition (rekvisition) for children's wigs
We have for many years been an approved supplier of wigs on requisition (rekvisition) in all 21 Swedish regions. For children the grant is often higher than for adults – Region Stockholm, for example, gives up to 9,500 SEK per twelve-month period for children. Amounts and rules differ between regions, and the requisition is written by the treating specialist physician. Several regions do not pay grants for orders placed online. Requisition purchases therefore take place in our salons, where we also fit and adjust the wig. Requisitions only apply in Sweden. What happens at the visit
At the visit we take plenty of time and go at your child's pace. We measure the head together, show the difference between the straight (Rak) and wavy (Vågig) textures and let your child try on the wig. In the salon we also fit and adjust the wig, so it sits comfortably and securely. If you have a requisition (rekvisition), we go through how the purchase works and which rules apply in your region in Sweden.
