Affordable wigs that do not look cheap

Affordable wigs online do not have to look cheap. The difference lies in what you choose to spend your money on – and what you can skip without anyone noticing. Here we go through what you actually get at each price level, where you can save and what not to compromise on, so you can choose an affordable wig with your eyes open instead of guessing.

Vegan synthetic – the lowest price and the least upkeep
Our vegan synthetic wigs are the cheapest way to get started with wigs. The fibre is heat-resistant and looks true to life, and the biggest advantage is that it returns to its shape by itself as it dries. You never need to restyle the wig after washing – you wash it, let it air-dry and the style is back. What you give up is the option to colour it, and it does not last as long as real hair with daily wear. Many people solve this by having several vegan wigs and rotating them, which is cheaper in the long run and makes each one last longer.

Real hair does not have to cost more
It is easy to assume that real hair is always the most expensive, but several of our wigs in 100% real hair cost less than a synthetic wig. The difference is that they have a classic cap instead of lace. Lace is the most expensive part to make, and without it the wig becomes far more affordable. So you get a material that can be heat-styled, coloured by a stylist and reshaped just like your own hair, at a low entry price. It is the most underrated way into real hair.

What is the difference between a cheap and an expensive wig?
Mainly material and construction. Synthetic fibre costs less than real hair, and a classic cap costs less than lace or a hand-tied mono top. The more handwork, the higher the price – and the more freedom in how you can wear the hair. On our wig models page we go through every construction, so you can see what you are paying for.

What not to compromise on
Two things decide whether a wig reads as real, and both are worth paying for. The first is the hairline. Either the wig has lace along the hairline, or it has a fringe that covers it. If it has neither, the edge shows, and then the quality of the hair matters less. The second is the fit. A wig that gapes looks wrong, however beautiful it is. We adjust the size and cut the lace to your hairline in the salon – that is often what makes the biggest difference on an affordable wig. If you just want the lace cut, lace cutting costs 290 SEK, and a wig made ready to your measurements, with size, lace and style, costs 1,490 SEK.

Does a cheap wig look fake?
Not if the hairline is handled right. A wig with a fringe in vegan synthetic can look completely natural, because the fringe hides the transition between wig and skin. What gives a wig away is almost always the hairline or the fit, not the price. If it is your first wig, we recommend exactly that: a wig with a fringe. It needs no styling, no glue and no lace skills – you put it on and it looks finished straight away. If you want a hand-tied parting in real hair, there are also lace closure wigs.

All our wigs are glueless
Whatever the price level, the wig stays on without glue or tape. You put it on and take it off yourself, every day, with no products on your skin and no strain on your own hair. It also means you do not have to spend money on glue and tape.

Look after your wig and it lasts longer
How long a wig lasts depends on the material, how often you wear it and how you care for it. Wash it in lukewarm water with a shampoo made for wigs, rinse in the direction of the hair and never rub. Pat out the water with a towel and let the wig air-dry on a wig stand – hot water can ruin synthetic fibre. Our vegan wigs can take a flat iron and curling wand on low to medium heat, but always start low and test on a small section at the nape first, as overheated fibre cannot be repaired.

With hair loss after chemotherapy, alopecia or another illness, you may be entitled to a grant from your region in Sweden. We are an approved supplier of wigs on requisition (rekvisition) in all 21 Swedish regions and invoice the region directly, so you do not have to pay up front. Requisitions only apply in Sweden.
