Yaki

Yaki has a straight texture with a subtle micro-crimp that mimics blow-dried or relaxed hair. It gives more body and fullness than pin-straight hair extensions and blends with natural hair that has been blow-dried smooth. Available in real human hair as hair weft and clip-on.

FAQs

What does Yaki mean?

Yaki is the name of a straight hair extension texture with a fine micro-texture that mimics blown-out or relaxed hair. The name is an industry standard and is used the same way in every market.

What's the difference between Yaki and Kinky?

Yaki has a subtle micro-texture and suits relaxed or blown-out hair with a smoother surface. Kinky is denser and more textured and matches natural afro hair with a stronger texture. Go by how your hair looks when air-dried.

Why not regular straight hair extensions?

Your own hair is rarely glassy, even after a blow-out. Next to bone-straight extensions the join shows, while Yaki is closer to your own surface and makes the transition softer.

Which lengths and colours are available?

Hair weft comes in 50 and 60 cm in shades 1B and 2. Clip-on comes in 50 and 60 cm in shades 1, 1B and 2. If you need a different shade, we'll place a special order.

How much hair do I need?

Each hair weft weighs 100 grams. Most people need two to three wefts for both length and fullness, fewer if you only want to add thickness. The clip-on set weighs 150 grams and is enough for a full extension.

How is hair weft attached?

The weft is cut into sections to suit your head shape and attached with sew-in, weave or micro weft. We work from the nape upwards so the attachments are hidden under your own hair. Installation is done in Stockholm and Uppsala.

Can I straighten and colour the hair?

The hair is genuine Remy and can take both heat and colour. But if you straighten hard, you smooth out the micro-texture and lose what makes Yaki look natural. Use heat protection and low to medium heat, and let a hairdresser do the colouring.

How long does the hair last?

With the right care, one to three years. Hair weft needs regular move-ups depending on the method, while clip-on is only worn for a few hours at a time and so wears less.

How do I care for Yaki?

Wash with a moisturising shampoo and conditioner for textured hair extensions. Let the hair air-dry flat or blow-dry on low heat with heat protection. Brush daily with a suitable brush and braid loosely before bed.

How do I know which texture suits me?

Send us a daylight photo of unwashed, air-dried hair and we'll look at it together. You can also book a free consultation, online or in the salon in Stockholm and Uppsala.

Everything you need to know about Yaki

Yaki hair extensions – straight hair with a natural micro-texture
Yaki is a straight hair extension whose surface isn't glassy but has a fine micro-texture. It gives the hair the same body your own hair gets when it's blown out smooth or relaxed. Your own hair is rarely completely smooth, so next to bone-straight extensions the join shows.

Who Yaki suits
Yaki is made for relaxed or blown-out natural hair. If your hair is more strongly textured even after blow-drying, Kinky is a better choice.

Hair weft or clip-on
Hair weft is the permanent solution. The weft is densely sewn, cut into sections to suit your head shape and attached with sew-in, weave or micro weft. Each hair weft weighs 100 grams and comes in 50 and 60 cm in shades 1B and 2. Clip-on is the temporary solution, a 150-gram set you put in yourself.

Quality
The hair is genuine Brazilian Remy hair, with all strands facing the same way. With the right care it lasts one to three years.

How to keep the texture
Wash with moisturising products for textured hair extensions and air-dry flat or blow-dry on low heat. Straightening hard will smooth out the micro-texture.

Installation
We carry out installation and move-ups in Stockholm and Uppsala.
