How do keratin treatment and relaxer work?

A keratin treatment adds strengthening proteins that close the cuticle and tame frizz, without straightening the hair. A relaxer instead chemically breaks down and rebuilds the hair's bonds for a straight structure. Both are applied in sections and activated with heat to seal the result.

Is perming suitable for Afro hair and how is the treatment adapted?

Yes, but it requires a careful consultation. We assess the structure, previous treatments and choose a gentle strength and technique that protects the hair and scalp.

How do the treatments differ from a hair mask?

Straight perm lasts until the regrowth comes and is done on new growth. Texturizer is adjusted according to the desired case. Keratin treatment usually gives effect for several months depending on care.

Which treatment suits me?

A keratin treatment suits you if you have curly, wavy or frizzy hair and want softer, easier-to-manage hair while keeping your curl — the curls often come out finer and more defined. A relaxer suits you if you want a completely straight result. Both reduce the need for daily heat styling.

Keratin treatment, texturizer and relaxer
A professional treatment makes your hair easier to manage for several months, with less need for straighteners and blow-drying. We offer all three treatments in Stockholm and Uppsala.

Keratin treatment
Keratin does not straighten the hair. The treatment tames frizz, seals the cuticle and makes the hair soft and shiny, but your natural texture remains. Curls often become finer and more defined. The result washes out gradually over three to five months.

Relaxer
If you want completely straight hair, a relaxer is the right choice. It breaks down the bonds that create curl and gives a lasting straight result on the treated lengths. The new growth is treated after a few months.

Texturizer
A texturizer loosens a very tight curl pattern so the hair becomes softer and easier to shape, while the curl remains.

Care
Use sulfate-free products, especially after keratin, as sulfates dissolve the treatment early. Give your hair plenty of moisture with a hair mask and leave-in.
