About synthetic wigs
Synthetic fibers need their own care
Synthetic wigs are made from high-quality synthetic fibers designed to keep their style and shape. Our synthetic wigs are heat-resistant and can be styled with a flat iron or curling iron up to 120°C, so you can restyle them.
Above that limit the fibers are permanently damaged, which is why synthetic hair needs its own care – with products made for synthetic fibers, cold or lukewarm water and gentle handling.

Care tips for synthetic wigs
A synthetic wig is a convenient and affordable way to change your style or get your volume back. Synthetic fibers are designed to keep their shape, color and style, but they do not behave like human hair – which is why they need their own care routine. Here we go through how to wash, style and store your synthetic wig so it stays looking good for as long as possible.
How often to wash a synthetic wig
Wash the wig about every other week, depending on how often you wear it and how many styling products you use. Fill a basin with cold or lukewarm water and add a shampoo made for synthetic hair. Lower the wig in and move it gently – do not rub. Then rinse in cold water until the water runs clear, and avoid wringing or squeezing the wig.
Conditioner and care spray
After washing, you can use a conditioner for synthetic hair to keep the fibers soft and prevent static. Between washes, a care spray refreshes the fibers. Our Enhancer Spray is moisturizing, works like a conditioner, detangles and adds shine. You will find all the products in our Hair care for synthetic hair collection.
Dry it the right way
Place the wig on a wig stand and let it air dry naturally. Never dry it with a hair dryer or on a radiator. Do not comb the wig while it is wet – wait until it has dried so the fibers do not stretch or tangle.
Style at no more than 120°C
Our synthetic wigs are heat-resistant and can be styled with a flat iron or curling iron up to 120°C, so you can restyle them. Never go above that limit, as higher heat permanently damages the fibers and cannot be repaired. Use the lowest possible heat and test on a small strand at the nape first. If you want to shape the style without heat, your fingers or a wide-tooth comb work well.
Brush and avoid tangles
Brush the wig gently every day with a wide-tooth comb or a wig brush. Start at the ends and work your way up. Wigs can tangle because of friction against clothes and wind, or when they are not brushed regularly – especially at the nape where the hair rests against your collar.
Storage and sleep
Store the wig on a wig stand or in a silk bag. It protects against dust, keeps the shape and reduces friction. Keep the wig away from strong sunlight and moisture for longer periods, and do not sleep in it – friction against the pillow makes the fibers tangle faster.
The difference from human hair
A human hair wig can be washed with ordinary sulfate-free shampoo and styled like your own hair, while a synthetic wig needs products for synthetic fibers, cold or lukewarm water and a heat limit of 120°C. On the other hand, synthetic fibers keep their style even after washing, so a curly synthetic wig becomes curly again once it has dried. That makes synthetic hair an easy choice if you want a wig that is ready to wear straight away.
Common mistakes to avoid
Most damage to a synthetic wig comes from heat and friction. Styling above 120°C, washing in hot water, using regular shampoo, combing the wig while it is wet or sleeping in it all wear hard on the fibers. Even a hair dryer or a radiator can ruin the fibers. If you avoid these mistakes, the wig keeps its shape and shine for longer.
How long does a synthetic wig last?
A synthetic wig lasts 1–3 months, depending on how much it is worn. With the right care – gentle washing, proper storage and careful brushing – you will get the most out of it. If you have two wigs that you alternate between, each one wears less.
Cutting and adjusting
You can cut a synthetic wig to adjust the style, but do it carefully or let a stylist with experience of wigs do it. Synthetic fibers do not grow back, so it is better to cut a little at a time.
