We perform keratin treatments in our salon every week, but we also sell the same professional products for home use. It is entirely possible to achieve a salon-quality result yourself, provided you do not skip any of the steps. If you want the complete process step by step with images, you can find it in our guide to keratin treatments at home. You need three things: Cocochoco Clarifying Shampoo for deep cleansing, a keratin formula suited to your hair type, such as Cocochoco Original, and a flat iron with titanium plates that reaches a sufficiently high and even temperature. An ordinary ceramic flat iron with uneven heat is the most common cause of a mediocre result at home. In addition: hair clips for sectioning, an applicator bowl, a fine-toothed comb, and gloves. Wash your hair twice with clarifying shampoo and do not use conditioner. Blow-dry your hair completely. Divide it into four main sections and work through it using thin strands at a time. Apply the keratin approximately one centimeter from the scalp and out to the ends, distributing it evenly. Leave it on according to the instructions on the package. Then straighten the product into the hair section by section using several slow passes. It is better to use strands that are too thin rather than too thick. Each step is described in more detail in the step-by-step guide. Moisture left in the hair when the keratin is applied. Sections that are too thick when straightening. And washing your hair too soon afterward - the first 72 hours are not a recommendation but a prerequisite. From your first wash onward, use sulfate-free shampoo and sulfate-free conditioner. Sulfates wash the keratin out, causing both the result and the money you spent to disappear. If it feels like a big project, you can always book the treatment with us in Stockholm or Uppsala instead. What you need
