Tejp hårförlängning – så fungerar metoden

Tape is the fastest of our methods and the least visible in thin hair. It isn't right for everyone, but for the right hair type it's hard to beat.

How it works

The extensions sit on thin strips with an adhesive surface. Two strips are placed against each other with a thin section of your own hair in between, so the attachment lies flat. No rings, no heat, nothing that adds bulk.

That's why tape sits so close to the head you can barely feel it, and why it works so well in fine hair where other attachments would stick out.

Who it suits

  • Fine to normal hair
  • You want volume rather than maximum length
  • You want a quick installation
  • You wear your hair down or half up

When we recommend something else

  • Very thick hair. You'd need a lot of strips for even density, so hair weft is more efficient.
  • Oily scalp. Sebum near the roots is tape's biggest enemy.
  • A high ponytail every day. The strips can peek through in high updos.

Move-ups

Tape needs a move-up roughly every one to two months – more often than most other methods, because the strips become visible sooner as your hair grows out. The hair can be reused; only the strips are replaced.

What decides how long it lasts

Tape almost always comes loose for the same reason: products. Oils, silicones and heavy masks dissolve the adhesive.

  • Keep the top few centimetres free of oil and conditioner
  • Dry your hair thoroughly at the roots
  • Don't sleep with wet hair
  • Use a sulphate-free shampoo

Our hair care sets work on both your own hair and extensions, without the heavy silicones.
